Who cares. The girl helping her id the winner in her heart. Nothing can replace that. Helping someone else in that way. She must be proud

Actually she couldve cost her the race. Appatently, the next finisher was kind enough not to contest it, She brings the whole story full circle.

I ran a marathon before and it was the worst experience of my life running 26 miles is a long way if you do the math that mean you’re average minutes is between 5-7 minutes per mile. What takes you to drive 30 minutes takes 2 hours to run that same distance 😳 I give it to those people who can run these and not be in pain.

It's about 6:35 pace. My PR is 2:53:19 which is just about what she ran. This is questionably DQ material in my book though. If this were a larger race such as Boston or Chicago she most certainly would have been disqualified.

killashags yeah, I watched this race and she kept pulling her arm away from the younger girl at first maybe for that very reason. She won by such a large margin a DQ would have seemed harsh anyway.

“She’s gonna be fine, she’s gonna be absolutely fine, we’ve seen this before” .... yeah from the look of her condition at the end there are no guarantees she would be fine.

I had something similar happen to me. I was in a marathon and at about two miles into the race my legs were hurting and I felt miserable. I probably should have trained a little and maybe even quit smoking. But someone came by on a tandem bicycle and saw that I was in distress. I climbed on the back seat of the bike. We passed up countless runners. We stopped about a 100 yards of the finish line. I got off the bike, walked across the finish line to a ninth place finish. A few people complained, as though I were illegally aided. But most people could see that it was a case of sportsmanship.

Three O Five the story would have been better had you smoked a full pack of cigarettes and had a few beers along the way.
