Given his concerns that world governments are destroying the value of their fiat currencies while reducing the freedom & liberty of the people they serve, global macro analyst Marc Faber explains what today's concerned investors can do with their investment portfolios to protect themselves. Marc Faber: Investing For The End Of The World As We Know It | Intl Stocks, Gold & Real Estate.
[If you haven't yet watched Part 1 of this interview, watch it first here: • Marc Faber: ‘Dr Doom’ ... ]
In this Part 2 of our interview with global macro analyst Marc Faber, Marc provides his preferred investments and recommended portfolio allocation for the future he sees coming.
Marc favors an allocation of:
25% global equities (with a heavy weighting towards Emerging Markets)
25% global bonds
25% precious metals (gold, silver & platinum)
25% real estate
For those considering putting Marc's insights into practice in their own portfolio, we recommend working under the guidance of a professional financial advisor who understands and appreciates the threats and risks discussed in this interview. You’d be surprised how few do.
If you already have a good one, great, stick with them. But if not, consider scheduling a completely free no-strings-attached consultation with the financial advisors Wealthion endorses -- the same ones who join me on this program every week to share their latest thoughts on the market.
Schedule your free portfolio review with Wealthion's endorsed financial advisors at: www.wealthion.com/

At Wealthion, we show you how to protect and build your wealth by learning from the world’s top experts on finance and money. Each week we add new videos that provide you with access to the foremost specialists in investing, economics, the stock market, real estate and personal finance.
We offer exceptional interviews and explainer videos that dive deep into the trends driving today's markets, the economy, and your own net worth. We give you strategies for financial security, practical answers to questions like “how to grow my investments?”, and effective solutions for wealth building tailored to 'regular' investors just like you.
There’s no doubt that it's a very challenging time right now for the average investor. Above and beyond the recent economic impacts of COVID, the new era of record low interest rates, runaway US debt and US deficits, and trillions of dollars in monetary and fiscal stimulus stimulus has changed the rules of investing by dangerously distorting the Dow index, the S&P 500, and nearly all other asset prices. Can prices keep rising, or is there a painful reckoning ahead?
Let us help you prepare your portfolio just in case the future brings one or more of the following: inflation, deflation, a bull market, a bear market, a market correction, a stock market crash, a real estate bubble, a real estate crash, an economic boom, a recession, a depression, or another global financial crisis.
Put the wisdom from the money & markets experts we feature on Wealthion into action by scheduling a free consultation with Wealthion’s endorsed financial advisors, who will work with you to determine the right next steps for you to take in building your wealth.

What Marc or any of Adam's great guests never point out, are the big Black Swan type unknown variables that can destroy all our best future laid plans. Like Marc schooled us on the French not being able to take Gold or Silver as payment under the penalty of death! Who saw that coming as they were accumulating precious metals?
@DyrconaBob
@DyrconaBob 2 жыл бұрын
To a person as well schooled in history as Dr. Faber is, there are no "black swan" events. Anything that can happen has already happened for the most part. His point is that you need to be as diversified as possible to be prepared for anything. EDIT: In truth, you can't be prepared for everything.The best thing you can do is diversify your investments, including your investments in yourself. One should also have some actual, physical world skills and connections with those in the community where they live. These things would stand you in better stead than all the gold in the world in the event that the "unthinkable" happens.

They're really not printing money, it's loaned into creation, Jeff Snider, and in my opinion is being used by hedge funds to prop up the likes of CBS Viacom, Crocs, Generac, Moderna, RETL, and more. Something went wrong with CBS however. Look at the Price to FCFE ratios on many of those stocks taking the indexes higher. How can these levels be justified in light of the fact the baby boomers are starting to die off and the nurses are no longer dancing thanks to the Delta varient.

Does Faber consider the huge transfer of wealth to the already wealthy and the incredible tax breaks and/or subsidies to industry as socialism?
@joshfgfg
@joshfgfg 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe from what he says that he does. Large companies benefit from socialism as the government spends money, see 1930s hoover damn etc. Tax breaks don’t matter so much as corporations don’t pay tax like everyone else. The government is also spending 60% of gdp now, so more than the private sector. That is socialism, once we get closer to 100 it’s communism. Government was 3% of spending in 1900. 25% in 1980s.

Yes, I agree the uncovered net short positions in the paper derivatives products do still lend themselves to some knock down dragout price beat downs. But, friend, they do get beaten down ONLY after there has been a surge in unwanted (from their perspective) demand. So, we do get to see--albeit through a distorted lens--that markets forces are pushing for higher prices. Do the prices go as high as they otherwise would have? Probably not, but I like to think of our crowd as more grounded in principles that are worth guarding (even if we end up losing the bet in the long run--obviously, I dont believe we will lose in the long run as I'm holding a little less than 4000oz of physical silver and may drop another 20k/usd in this latest price dip depending on short term momentum). But, I do take solace in that fact: that we are calling out the B.S. and putting our currency where our mouth is. So, manipulated? Yeah, probably. Having more paper claims than available physical constitutes fraud by many modern definitions of it. But, I understand why they did that in the historical context: they wanted to protect the Dollar for as long as possible and at almost any cost. Well, Fifty years later (current iteration-wise, oh and Happy Birthday btw Adam lol) and the consequences of trying to reign supreme are starting to come home to roost. I believe, as others are starting to prove through their independent research, that the bullion banks are in a trend of actively trying to unwind their net short positions. That bodes well for our community indeed.

Honestly, I've watched (and liked) just about every Wealthion video and I followed Adam and Peak Prosperity since 2013/2014. I'm not sure if you've watched more than just this interview with Faber, but the rest of the interviews do not always play out like what you are describing. In my opinion Faber is an awesome guest and has a lot to say, but had a different communication style than most guests do (meaning, he was more ready to tell his story than to listen to Adam's attempts of corralling him back to the penciled talking points [and Faber didn't ignore all the questions, but responded when he was able to]). And guess what? There is a lot of value in listening to an old man rant! And if anyone has earned it the elderly certainly have!

They have brought on opposing viewpoints and -- maybe it is my confirmation bias speaking here -- but they weren't very convincing. I remember Dr. Pippa Malmgren as one example. And she may be right on a nominal more short term basis, but not on a longer basis in real terms (and she never addressed the consequences of what is providing [what many of us in this crowd believe] is only merely the appearance of growth and not actually growth). When you deep dive into longer term structural patterns it becomes apparent that something is going to have to give at some point.

Besides mixing socialism and communism, he's totally ignorant that the appeal of left wing economics right now is because right wing economics, especially here in the states, is barreling towards a cliff of its' own. Just today I read that 50% of hourly wage workers can't afford a 1 bedroom rental in any major city in the US. That is not a metric that screams success. If you told people in the 1950's or even 1980's that would be the case, they would have laughed in your face, yet here we are. Capitalism has not solved poverty, it redefined it. What has reduced poverty (always! in every economic system!) is technological advancement as humans have solved many scarcity problems (but not let go of scarcity driven economics). The infinite growth mantra of western capitalism is building our dystopian prison. Of course left wing policies and economics are gaining popularity as right wing economics are leaving more and more people behind. All humans should participate in the advance of civilization. Any system that attempts to keep a majority out, or in a wage slave role, will eventually crumble when the masses realize/remember that we are stronger together. Capitalism has not moderated itself, so of course people are calling for moderation. Some folks are so invested in their own ideas that they miss the writing on the wall. The pendulum will continue to swing, back and forth. Otherwise good interview, thanks Wealthion!

Jose, go look at the US10Y (10 YEAR US GOV TREAUSURY YIELD) going back to the sixties/seventies. It crawls up and peaks in the early eighties and then comes down as mathematically precise as we went up (i.e. artificially engineered). But, as we approach the zero bound this time around we are saddled with levels of debt that aren't even fathomable. I can go on and on, but one of my replies was probably censored by GovTube so I dont want to waste my precious energy in case another is removed (I mentioned "pitch forks" and "woke mobs", so I believe I was flagged by their algo for review. Then a non-primary English speaker gets to interpret my own thoughts and gets to decide if what I say stays or goes). This is the world we live in...

I really enjoyed the interview, very insightful. However, I'm very surprised a person whose life's work is to evangelize how centralized control is evil, gave a really poor and uneducated answer about cryptocurrency. Maybe it was because they ran out of time or maybe Adam isn't knowledgeable enough to ask questions to elaborate on his answer. Bitcoin, and possibly others, could be the definitive answer to ending centralized control of money and civilization's standard of living.

Why did you push Marc off in "PT2" in favor of these corporate types? This does not reflect his message. Even if you think it is "in the oven" or crazy, you should let him continue on with his full message scenario instead of diverting it off into this corporate jabber. Agree or disagree with Marc, diverting his insights as you have done does not reflect his position.
