Why is pardoning even still a thing? Now with the last two presidents we have normalized pardoning friends and family, pardoning war criminals that slaughtered children, and soon pardoning oneself.

I mean yeah usually. But I don't know if this is worse or not than pardoning war criminals. Or if pardoning your son is better or worse than pardoning your father in law or yourself. We just need to get rid of one man being able to say the law doesn't apply to certain people because he says so.
