my mom passed on 3 days before thanksgiving 2017, and i did the exact same thing, i kept saying mom please wake up, please wake up, ill do anything, just please wake up, i would give anything to have her here today, my advice to those whos mothers, fathers etc. are still here with you, spend as much time as you can with them, because there's no guarantee on tomorrow, i figured that out too late, iv lost both my brothers, my mom, uncles, aunts over the years, i took life for granted, iv said words that i wish i never said, and now its too late to take back, the words Marc Mero is speaking here are powerful and has alot of meaning

@@Phenom6667 same thing happened to me Friday October 2nd, 2020 8:56 am, it really is traumatizing to see your dad or mom in the casket, I just kept trying to convince myself it was a dream but when I tell you I wished he would wake up and I asked my mom “why did he have to die now?” I’m only 15 years old and he didn’t get to see me graduate or succeed my dream, but I will always remember his smile, hugs, laughs, jokes, and when we spent time together as father and daughter, but as soon as they opened that casket I just started crying and I couldn’t stop, looking at my dad and I said “I love you dad, I will miss you” we always use to say “I love you” before we left, he always said to me, “you make sure you say I love you to everyone before you leave, because it may be the last time you see them” so now all I think about is life and how precious it really is, we have such a short period of time on this earth, but you will always create good memories and that memory will stick with you forever, just wanted to share that with you, nice talking to you, - Tamara

The girl's reaction when he says "your mother died" gets me everytime. This is one of the most beautiful speech videos I have ever seen, and seeing the students reactions makes it that much more emotional and I am impressed with Marc for this speech, and how he was actually able to get to these student's emotions, that's not a easy thing people can accomplish. To be perfectly honest, this guy needs to come to my school and give this speech.

I lost my mother in March 2019 unexpectedly. I actually watched her take her last breath and heartbeat, then the doctor pronounced her dead. I yelled at my mom to stop messing around and get up but she never responded. I sat there holding her hand for what seemed like an eternity cause I didn't want to leave her. Then while I was in Texas visiting my daughter and son-in-law for Thanksgiving in 2019, my youngest brother died on the way to the hospital of a massive heart attack, he was only 40. Everytime I watch this video, tears just keep coming and it takes a while to stop because I can totally relate to Marc's story. I wasn't on best terms with my mom and I totally regret it to this day. My brother and I didn't have the same relationship after our mother died and we really didn't speak to each other like we use to. Then Bam, he dies unexpectedly too. ALL I can say is make up with your parents or siblings cause you don't want any regrets if they die unexpectedly. Thank you to Marc Mero for sharing this video.

I am so sorry that it had to come at the expense of the only person who cheered for him since day one. I just lost my mom about 7 days ago and this hit home hard and for anyone else who sees this it’s ok to not be okay… my aunt once told me “god gives you what he thinks you can handle” I’m not religious whatsoever but I kinda Live by that knowing that if I could change anything I wouldn’t because I’d be changing myself. what you go through makes you the man you are they say pressure make diamonds keep that in mind

I'm a bad son, bad Friend, bad brother, bad human being, I have a bad mind set, I'm just a bad person overall, I don't deserve to be here, to be who I am, to have what I have, to have who I have. I'm not making this comment to down myself, I'm making this comment for people to not be who I am, don't take advantage of who you have or what you have. Be grateful, cause one thing can happen to you to make your world crash down.

You have two choices, continue doing as you do and spiral into a pit with this mindset or... Take small steps in becoming someone better. I've had this exact mindset for the longest time, but change starts with you. It's never too late to turn things around and, if you put in the time and effort, change can happen. Maybe not right away but it will happen. It's an active choice and you can't be passive. But the rewards outweigh the struggle. As a human being you deserve peace. This comment itself is a step in the right direction because you recognize that you have these flaws but now it's time to rise above. In order to do that you have to want to help yourself. I will be hoping that one day you can look in the mirror and be proud of what you accomplish and not feel that you don't deserve it. Fairfarren.

I watched this the other day and let me tell U something man. I had tears coming out of my eyes. I mean I was crying. It hit me really hard. Cause I was thinking about my mom when she was in the hospital when she had pancreas and I was an emotional wreck. I thought I was gonna lose her. Cause if I did my life would've been over. But Thank God she made it. I know she and I argue sometimes. But I know she's always there for me when I need her and I don't know where I would be if I had've lost her. I'm just gonna enjoy having my mom around until the day God calls her up.

I remember this video was first recommended to me (in April) when my mother was in hospital, and it never crossed my mind that she would leave because her illness was so sudden and I thought she'd come back home. So, I watched this and felt so emotional and thanked God that I still had my mom (though I took her love for us for granted and was always mad at her). But a week after seeing this video my mom passed away (in April) and literally till this day, it feels like my world has ended. I feel like I could have shown her more love that she deserved than what I was doing. She loved me and my siblings so much and she was always strong for us, but we did not notice that. We just kept wanting too much from her. The greatest pain in this world is to wish you could turn back time when you know that is impossible to do. If you still have your mother, please show her love, respect and appreciation. They may not tell you the battles they go through because they are protecting you and they love you so much. Mothers go through a lot and they never tell us. You only realize when they're gone. I wish I could have been a better daughter, I wish I could have protected my mom and give her the love that she deserved. I miss her so much, everyday. Losing my mom has completely changed my life. I just hope and pray that my siblings and I survive and get through this. I'm sorry mama, I love you with all my heart.

After watching this video, i ran downstairs and hugging my mom tightly. I am 110% mommas boy and losing her means i might even end my own life because the purpose of living is gone. She did everything for me. She protectdd me from violent alcoholic stepdads and when she was down, she keeps on going to make me happy no matter what. My goal, before she is gone, is to find a way to repay for everything she has done for me.

First time I watched this I was just a teenager it stuck with me and I've waisted no opportunity to tell my mom I love her and to show her it, and now that I'm a mom. The amount of love I have for my kidsis beyond anything my teenage heart could comprehend I get to experience the other side the belief in my kids and the insatiable urge to let my kids know, and show them that I'm here whenever the need something hold them in rain or sunshine.
