I wanna do this. I also wanna train my Nubian Billy to pull a two wheel cart. So you think it is possible for a goat to pull a small cart. My Billy is a big handsome dude. I got him from a dairy. I paid $100 as a bottle baby. I kept him intact because his feet and frame are exceptional and good. He's not perfect but he's not a flop. I have a few Nubian does. I've always thought about making pack animals out of my goats. Thank you for sharing and taking things to another level. I'm sure it has been done before. I haven't seen it in my lifetime until now. I would be interested in equipment and taking your course.

I'm really liking the pack goat idea! A better place for my bucklings to go to. I raise lamanchas and it's hard to just pretty much give away some really nice bucklings but I can't keep them all!. Lol. Curious, is there a reason you keep their horns?
@averageboring5750

Horns allow them to acclimate to the weather. Athletic goats really benefit from them.

Thanks KZbin for the suggestion, we have been doing Nubian milk goats for over 10 years now. I have always wanted to do pack goats, looking forward to learning more from you channel. Quick question what are you thoughts on using purebred Nubians as pack goats or should I look at Alpine mixtures? Just subscribed, thanks guys.

Have you had a chiropractor or massage therapist come out for Mercy's back? I know it sounds weird, but it really is especially helpful to recover from injuries. A lot of people who use animals in pro sports (racing, etc.) have a massage therapist and chiropractor on hand to regularly treat their animals.

Do you recommend de horning your goats? It seems like a safety issue with those horns.
@guy8646
@guy8646 3 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t look like it since all of his goats have horns. The horns help them regulate body temperature, which I’d guess is important while packing in the out country.

@@guy8646 well some goats are born polled which means they're born without horns. So he may of bought some polled.

We have a pack of goats we let out to free roam the property and have done so for years. Recently, a different female became the queen of the heard and has began taking them far off and crossing fences they never have before. Is there any way you've found to reestablish a different queen of the herd? She is a great mother & has and cares for many babies so hate to sell her. She generally has 3 kids every pregnancy and once had 4 but she cant take care of 4 so had to bottle feed one.
