Today’s war within ranged dps tier list focuses on FUN, the most important aspect of a video game right? We’ve played and tested all the ranged dps specs and have a pretty good idea on what we enjoy and it’s all 100% subjective!

Frostfire Frost Mage is sooooo fun! My ranged DPS experience is pretty minimal and it's even less with casters. I'm totally sold on Frostfire though! I don't dare try Fire or Arcane for fear I get completely lost in that rabbit hole

all hunter speccs needs some well deserved visual flair other than just barely different colour on the arrow or bullet and maybe some bigger flair when a pet gets summoned or a proc for explosive shot or killshot happens

Glad affliction is getting love. I play Warlock every expansion and Aff has always been my favourite (well apart from MoP Demo... RIP old Meta Demo. Was best spec in the game).

Glad I picked up a mage in remix right now. Fire is absolutely the most enjoyable caster in game for me personally, and knowing I have 2 other fantastic options is a huge bonus. I like classes that have unique utility and I think mage portals are the most useful imho. (I know everyone else is getting versions of this or engineering toys, but still).

It's really a testament to how good the Legion fire mage rework was that is basically still plays the same as it did then, and it's still my favorite ranged DPS spec.

My first toon ever in 2009 was my Warlock. Never mained him. Not once. Went DK/Monk/Druid last 15-years. Is it time for change?

I actually like the DoT gameplay in general - but the dots need to do enough damage to be rewarding. If they're tuned like VT and SWP then it feels bad not being able to compete for sure. but if the dot management is hard and they do big dam and return lots of power for spenders then it's worth imo

You can't go wrong with Warlock or Mage, all of their specs are fun to play. Devastation is a lot of fun, but too squishy IMHO.

They really need to do another rework to save hunter. Would still like to see pets funneled to BM only so they can open up MM and survival to have more possibilities. Dual wield would be nice too but running on hopium at this point.

yeah I do not like how pet-focused they have made Survival. Some pet interaction is okay. I would like to see more interactions with Harpoon as well because it is such a satisfying ability.

aoe dmg and cooldown reduction is hard to pass up. They changed the visuals to be less fairy and more arcane-y though.

Yeah, there needs to be a phone call to Tettles, Naguura and others to fix Boomkin! For me, Boomkin hasn't been fun to play since, ummmm, in a long time! Now, I will always play Boomkin as my main but its getting harder all the time just to enjoy playing. Ramp up time takes way, way too long, other players are asking what is wrong w/ your damage etc. I hope Blizzard fixes Boomkin play style along w/ the damage. If not, it's time for me to walk away.

Ive mained MM hunter and Rogue Alt for years, but ive decided to change mains this expansion to keep things fresh. Going with Mage for main and still deciding on a melee alt. Mages eating SO good

@18:03 there could've been such an easy fix to the mass-doomguard spam. just cap it.. make a "there can only be 2 doomguards active at a time" or maybe 3.. whatever feels reasonable and be done with it. it's probably still fun, but not just degenerate doom spam on trash

Would frostfire mage be suitable to play with a controller? Never tried controller in wow before and was thinking it could be worth a shot for super casual play

I started playing a controler a few months ago and now i cant keyboard!. I have so many more years with a controler it feel like 2nd nature. Now im stuck thou as i have to find a class i like that can be controllered easily. #spoiled!

@@HumanThoughtExpression Ye, and the bad thing is not only gameplay, but it impacts performance - bears are harendessly bad, cats are nowhere to be found, healers had to get 15% buff and were still not used by any of the top guilds for raid testing, and boomie is well.. as per the video. Worst part is we have the most feedback and some of us, have written actual papers with feedback..

Ele Shaman: you need a masters degree in common core math where your rotation is based on what abilities proc and some things in the hero tree either don't work or busted as hell

As a moonkin mage I just gave up for the moment. Not fun at all, still can't use convok wich is a huge fun spell, full ramp up in M+ is terrible, hero talents aren't fun at all... I'll just move to arcane because this is so much fun and blizzard love mage, and I want love

I did Ele last few expansions up to season 3 DF where i switched to Balance, season 4 I did Demo warlock, I am torn between Ele, Affliction and Mage this time, was gonna do shadow but i dunno if theyre gonna nerf it. Frost mage gives me hope because it feels less likely to be nerf'd

for spriest actually, unless I misunderstood you, it's the opposite fillers than what you mentioned. Voidweaver prefers Mind Spike and Archon prefers Flay since flay is the better of the 2 under Insanity now and Voidweaver has more interactions with mind blast (void blast) being buffed by mind spike's talent. So maybe try revisiting Archon since you said you don't like Spike

Unpopular opinion: I think Destruction's Overfiend launching Chaos Bolt's makes them feel way less special now. I know they're part of the rotation at this point rather than originally being just a big damage cooldown along the lines of Soul Fire but seeing them ALL the time when they're one of the coolest looking spells in the game takes some of the fun out of launching one for me.

Soul Harvester Affliction has been a huge surprise hit for me. The visual effects and Nightfall/Shadow Bolt synergies are very fun. I didn't expect to like it so much with everyone, and their mama, hyping up Hellcaller to such a high degree. I just hope the balancing makes it worth playing.

I'm hoping for some tuning for it. I know they added one of the ( weak dots ) to benefit from our mastery but it does need a buff. I also preferred the 30 second succulent soul mechanic to new one.

I keep trying to play druid boomkin and keep going back to cat. Boomkin for me is not fun to play I might as well just play healer with it. I tend to play shaman and lock and Pali tank mostly I like the new evokes class now. Used to play shadow priest but now it's not fun anymore more may have to try to get into mage which to me is usually the best dps most expansions.

You don't have to put breath in your allies it debuffs enemies and that debuff absorbs your allies DMG

As a longtime balance druid i am SAD. I agree with everything said and more about us. I got on the beta and felt no excitement for our hero specs. They are bland, boring and do nothing to enhance or improve us. Its embarrassing when you try the other hero specs out and see the changes and impacts they have on the spec. Not woth balance. Ive been trying out different ranged specs for my main, but i just dont enjoy the toolkit of others as much as i love boomy, its been my spec aince wrath, and im enjoying it in cata classic more than beta.
