One of the best knock down I have seen. You can tell they train hard as a team. Very well done lads.

Of all the house fire scenes I've looked at on you tube, this crew was easily the fastest American crew to get water on a fire and get inside. Excellent hustle with the hoses, and they were all mostly suited up, and didn't have to spent two minutes at the door getting dressed. I'd want these guys if my house was on fire.

you haven't seen a lot of them then.
@jasonbourne94188 жыл бұрын
Jj Argus you can't always do that though because pro firefighters look first it's already destroyed with smoke damage,and rushing in like these guys did a backdraft could be about to explode from opening doors or windows.

Now that's my version of "poetry in motion!", fantastic job guys! Really shows that this Dept. is top notch and trains often and effectively. Nice rig placement, good plan on water supply, foresight for Ladder placement, nice hoseline operations and most importantly GREAT COMMUNICATION!! Well done and continue to stay safe out there!

Great job!!! Like, I know....I'm no Fireman. But, it looked as if everyone knew what to do, were acting urgent, and got that fire under control quickly! I've watched a few videos, and everyone walks around...almost move in slow motion as the house burns completely up! But, if I was the owner of this house I'd be singing the praises of these hardworking, professional first responders!! KUDOS!!!

Very good crew who knew procedures and protocols. The first due engine crew knew exactly what to do and worked well together. No delay in the initial entry and knockdown. Ladder company did exactly what was needed upon arrival. Nice to see firefighting at its best.

Good job. Most scenes on this site show house fires that are almost fully involved before the first company shows up. Many times they are volunteers or part time firefighters and a lot of people that don't know much about fire or firefighting make derogatory comments towards the firefighters. They showed up in this video with a full crew of 4 or 5 firefighters on that engine company. A rare sight on medium and small departments.
@tewksburydriver86246 жыл бұрын
These, guys did their job well. Not to diminish what they did because we all know the chaos of some depts. on even the simplest fires, but this fire is actually very basic. Perfect conditions, daytime, dry, temperate etc. Easy access to the structure, fire location known upon arrival, and it's a relatively small house. Text book room and contents fire, at least from what we can see in the video. They did everything right in my opinion and their approach to putting out a fire like this is exactly how my department operates. Quick size up, stretch a line, mask up, call for water, aggressively put it out. 95% of fires like this can be handled pretty easily with a crew that knows what to do, like this one does. Wish every fire could be like this one. Where I live it seems like structure fires only happen when it's 20 degrees or 90 degrees lol.

I agree! It is really great to see fire crew coming off engine pulling not one, but two lines in first thing. No one walked, no one stood around, they went to work! On arrival the B\C exposure seemed to be well involved. Lionville FD did this one right!
@cheliman114 жыл бұрын
What a textbook fire scene! great work! Every firefighter on scene had PPE, and knew his, or her role! Backup/safety line stretched, and escape ladders to the second floor very quickly, and a great knockdown! Very well trained and disciplined Fire dept. Awesome job!! Adding to favorites!
@MrHeesbeen6 жыл бұрын
These fire fighters are a credit to the service and themselves. We see so many videos on KZbin of languid action and tend to expect it to be the norm in that country. They restore faith in the service, but why can`t all firefighters have such a sense of urgency and professionalism ?
Chopping wood and carrying water... the folks in this show make it look easy. Seems like older construction so I'm curious about the contents- figuring this started about 7-10 minutes after the fire started and it hadn't poked a hole out somewhere. Excellent, efficient and safe response from what I can see. Well done!

Did this crew come from another planet, these people easily put all other American crews to shame. No one standing around doing nothing. Men actually running towards the fire. Plans being made before getting to the fire. No waiting ages for water to be pumped in. This crew made for a refreshing change and they went a hell of a long way to bring back my faith in the American emergency services. Well done to you all. You should go forth and teach all other crews how it should be done

You obviously have not been around much. I would venture to say most career fire departments are highly motivated and competent. You may have some bad apples as is expected in any department, but they would not be the norm. I cannot speak for part time or volunteer departments as I have not worked for or with any.

Man, witnessing something like this up close and personal is a very scary thing. this morning i was waken up @ 7:20 by fire trucks blaring down my street, responding to a 2 story vacant apartment building on fire right across the street from me. After they got it out and did the overhaul, a guy came to board up the windows and i had to call them back bc i noticed light smoke coming from the roof. The wierd thing is that exactly 2 months ago, the house right next door to it caught on fire too.
@ChiefsFireman12 жыл бұрын
These are the videos I love, Within 15 seconds of being on scene hose is stretched to the door, within 90 seconds the line is charged and an interior attack is made, Fire under control and damage to property minimized. very nice.

The key to the success was what happened before arrival of this engine...the walkaround and communication with the first arriving engine as to what to expect and how to deploy. Also great communication within the crew to understand their duties upon arrival. Practice and communication make it work.
@robinwier7 жыл бұрын
There's hundreds of fire videos on KZbin. Most have many comments that are derogatory, some earned, most unearned. Here, we have a crew that, from the time they stop their rig, puts water on a second floor interior fire in almost exactly TWO MINUTES!!! And at the THREE MINUTE mark, they are steaming the attic!!! Sadly, the house is probably not livable without a financially catastrophic "makeover", but that's not the fault of Engine 47-2. This should be a training film for other departments.

That was a good response (the part that I saw,) A fantastic knockdown, and excellent teamwork! Great job to everyone!

Nice job. Good to see emphasis placed on stretching line and extinguishing fire vs. putting multiple members on roof accomplishing next to nothing with saws. Nothing against ventilation but hoseline should always come first. Line in operation, backup line in place, then they started looking at ventilation. Unless you have a large urban department, it's hard to accomplish both right off the bat. Multiple portable ladders placed for possible emergency egress by members. Again, well done.
@TheWaynelds13 жыл бұрын
(continued from last comment) With both fires, Our fire department knocked it out in a matter of minutes before it had a chance to become well involved (except for the small hot spot that somehow skipped the 2nd floor & made it to the inside of the roof & had to call them back again) The fire 2 months ago was on the 2nd floor & they got it before it had a chance to flash over, but 2 months later and theyre still fixing the damage. Even a small fire like these 2 can still be really destructive.

JB91710 This is JB everyone. JB wasnt able to pass the FDNY physical back in the 60s. JB then moved to CT where he became a volunteer for 10 years until he was arrested for stealing money from the department. JB now builds race cars, knows nothing about firefighting tactics, resentful of the FDNY for not passing his out of shape self, and makes negative comments on anything the FDNY does. He’s a coward and pathetic. Don’t be like JB.
