Of all the house fire scenes I've looked at on you tube, this crew was easily the fastest American crew to get water on a fire and get inside. Excellent hustle with the hoses, and they were all mostly suited up, and didn't have to spent two minutes at the door getting dressed. I'd want these guys if my house was on fire.

Did this crew come from another planet, these people easily put all other American crews to shame. No one standing around doing nothing. Men actually running towards the fire. Plans being made before getting to the fire. No waiting ages for water to be pumped in. This crew made for a refreshing change and they went a hell of a long way to bring back my faith in the American emergency services. Well done to you all. You obviously have not been around much. I would venture to say most career fire departments are highly motivated and competent. You may have some bad apples as is expected in any department, but they would not be the norm. I cannot speak for part time or volunteer departments as I have not worked for or with any.

These fire fighters are a credit to the service and themselves. We see so many videos on KZbin of languid action and tend to expect it to be the norm in that country. They restore faith in the service, but why can`t all firefighters have such a sense of urgency and professionalism ?

These, guys did their job well. Not to diminish what they did because we all know the chaos of some depts. on even the simplest fires, but this fire is actually very basic. Perfect conditions, daytime, dry, temperate etc. Easy access to the structure, fire location known upon arrival, and it's a relatively small house. Text book room and contents fire, at least from what we can see in the video. They did everything right in my opinion and their approach to putting out a fire like this is exactly how my department operates. Quick size up, stretch a line, mask up, call for water, aggressively put it out. 95% of fires like this can be handled pretty easily with a crew that knows what to do, like this one does. Wish every fire could be like this one. Where I live it seems like structure fires only happen when it's 20 degrees or 90 degrees lol.

Great job!!! Like, I know....I'm no Fireman. But, it looked as if everyone knew what to do, were acting urgent, and got that fire under control quickly! But, if I was the owner of this house I'd be singing the praises of these hardworking, professional first responders!! KUDOS!!!

Chopping wood and carrying water... the folks in this show make it look easy. Seems like older construction so I'm curious about the contents- figuring this started about 7-10 minutes after the fire started and it hadn't poked a hole out somewhere. Excellent, efficient and safe response from what I can see. Well done!
@robinwier7 жыл бұрын
There's hundreds of fire videos on KZbin. Most have many comments that are derogatory, some earned, most unearned. Here, we have a crew that, from the time they stop their rig, puts water on a second floor interior fire in almost exactly TWO MINUTES!!! And at the THREE MINUTE mark, they are steaming the attic!!! Sadly, the house is probably not livable without a financially catastrophic "makeover", but that's not the fault of Engine 47-2. This should be a training film for other departments.
@johnmills316 жыл бұрын
Good job. Most scenes on this site show house fires that are almost fully involved before the first company shows up. Many times they are volunteers or part time firefighters and a lot of people that don't know much about fire or firefighting make derogatory comments towards the firefighters. They showed up in this video with a full crew of 4 or 5 firefighters on that engine company. A rare sight on medium and small departments.

After they got it out and did the overhaul, a guy came to board up the windows and i had to call them back bc i noticed light smoke coming from the roof. The wierd thing is that exactly 2 months ago, the house right next door to it caught on fire too.

(continued from last comment) With both fires, Our fire department knocked it out in a matter of minutes before it had a chance to become well involved (except for the small hot spot that somehow skipped the 2nd floor & made it to the inside of the roof & had to call them back again) The fire 2 months ago was on the 2nd floor & they got it before it had a chance to flash over, but 2 months later and theyre still fixing the damage. Even a small fire like these 2 can still be really destructive.

Nice job. Good to see emphasis placed on stretching line and extinguishing fire vs. putting multiple members on roof accomplishing next to nothing with saws. Nothing against ventilation but hoseline should always come first. Line in operation, backup line in place, then they started looking at ventilation. Unless you have a large urban department, it's hard to accomplish both right off the bat. Multiple portable ladders placed for possible emergency egress by members. Again, well done.
