Surprisingly you made up for the lack of shells on the other side of the jetties! Good job! Beautiful lace murexes!! It's funny how people miss stuff. One day I was almost back to my car and up a ways on the beach, just lying there in the open was a "J cob", a beautiful one at that. Nobody saw it or just thought it was any old broken shell... Thanks Sharmon!

Dear Sharmon, I was so surprised that there weren't so many shells at that little piece of beach. It was always my most favourite piece of beach. A hidden little gem. Well, it looks like it's not so hidden anymore..... That blue bucket lady was going for it. 😅 But you made it work and still found a great haul of shells while there were a lot of other shellers just a few meters away from you!❤ That shows that a good eye for shells makes a lot of difference!! The bucket lady would envy you. 😆 Those apple, lace, and rose murex are so gorgeous!😍 Well, in fact, most of the shells are gorgeous. 😂 I'm curious about where you will take us next week. But I know for sure it will be awesome. I hope you have a wonderful week, with nice temperatures, lots of sunshine, and good health and happiness. Sending you as always lots of love and a big hug! Xoxo ❤, Ilona

I was surprised too! The beach isn't acting the way I thought it would! Someone was coming off the beach as I was getting on and I asked if they left me any shell. They said there were none to leave! I wasn't disappointed. I don't mind slowing down a little and looking harder. I find some of the most interesting things that way! I've decided we're going to Sanibel next week. I will show you a sunrise, the beach, shells and a replenished beach and replanted resort! And then I have a super fun video after that too. I hope you are feeling as good as you sound my Netherlands friend! ❤️❤️

Big hello from Woodstock, Ontario Canada! Yup, it’s still cold here, 🥶 but it’s always fun to go to the beach with you. Absolutely LOVED that orange Calico Scallop shell, I may have squealed a little bit when you showed it to us. As usual, you are a delight to spend time with Sharmon. I play a little game each week as I watch you, and try to “name that shell” before you say it. I’m getting better at it too! ❤

Good evening, Beach Angel and my beachy friends! I thought of you all earlier today. I was perusing the Christian t-shirts available on Temu and found a t-shirt that says "Respect the Ocean," as well as some showing sea turtles and other beachy scenes, etc. At less than ten dollars, the price was right. Of course, I hsd to buy one or two...okay, I bought three! Sharmon, I do so love your enthusiasm and the joy in your voice as you anticipate the day! You were having a great day of shelling (especially all the lovely scallops) and the live critters were a lot of fun, too! I love you naming them. "Patrick" really cracked me up! You were in rare form today, lovey! Congrats on the rose murex! That gorgeous orange calico scallop made my mermaid heart flutter! I keep watching carefully for a glimpse of the sleeve of a handmade sweater, but then I think you might not want to wear a garment like that to the beach. I always know you're finding lots of shells in the water when your fingertips begin to wrinkle! You really make my heart smile, dear Beach Angel! What a ginormous conjoined pair of pen shells! I'd have kept it! Ooh, shell piles are so much fun! I just enjoy sitting down and going through them! You can rest and still find pretty shells! Speaking of beach decor, I decided to transform my bathroom into a beachy haven of relaxation! I went to my favorite thrift shop and found three paintings of seascapes and seashells, as well as several other pretty, beach-inspired wall hangings. A couple of soft, thick rugs, a lovely seascape shower curtain and a set of cozy aqua towels and my retreat is fit for a little lost mermaid! I think it's just beautiful! I have long since found my passion and indulged in it all weekend! My passion is making others' lives better by sharing what has been given to me in abundance. I do enjoy it and feel that I am improving the world around me for others to share! Hope all of you have a wonderful week! Much love to each of you and lots of beachy dreams, as well. More love than all the grains of sand to.my dear Beach Angel, from her Lost Mermaid! 🐚🧜🏝️💖🌹

I would never wear that gorgeous sweater you made me to the beach! Well, if it were it night and I wasn't going near the water....I still don't think I'd chance it. I feel so at home when I'm at the beach. Like I know some of the secrets it has to share, but I want to know more! I am glad you have made yourself a little seaside retreat for yourself. I am a huge fan of thrift shops and have scored some pretty great stuff there in the past as well. I actually have a gumboil machine I want to remove some paint from the glass and fill with seashells. So many projects - so little time! I hope you have a wonderful week mermaid! ❤️

Good morning, Sharmon 😊 Your shelling adventure popped up on my phone this Monday morning, and just in time. I live in Sacramento, CA. And Man, we got slammed with one hecka storm late yesterday & last night (rain: 3.5-4 inches, wind 65-85 mph [which is huge for us], and no power for 18 hours). I'm sitting here with cold leftover coffee thanking our Lord for an intact roof & no trees on the house. Then, the skies opened and your video popped up, HOORAY 🥳 🎉 🪅 🎊 Boy, how lucky can a girl get. As far as I'm concerned, shelling solves everything! Many thanks for always being that bright ray of sunshine bringing us beautiful shells, sand, ocean waves, little critters, beautiful weather, and of course your wonderful self. I always look forward to going along with you on your shelling trips! We spent all of Thanksgiving week on Marco Island. (I saw our condo on your video.) The lowest tide they had there was .5 feet so no negative tide. But we went around the South end by climbing over the rocks instead of going in the water around the jetty. We could only stay 2 hours because the tide wasn’t so low. My son found the best stuff out in the water because he is 6’ 3” and has long arms. It was disappointing not to find anything to speak of right outside our condo. One day the wind was strong and blew some stuff up by the jetty. That day we found lots of paper figs by the jetty and were surprisingly whole. While we were there we enjoyed a trip to Keewaydin, Dickmans and Kice where my granddaughter found a Junonia! We are looking forward to going back! Already excited to see where you go next.

Hi Sharmon. Thank you for a such a refreshing video. I enjoyed it so much after a particularly hard week past. I would have loved to have been there with you. I found myself gasping when you picked up that orange calico scallop with those unusual patterns of darker orange lines. Completely stunning! I enjoyed everything you picked up. That huge pen shell still hinged was amazing. That would have been a keeper for me just because of size. On here on the west coast, I've never seen a pen shell. I doubt that they live here. Do people eat pen shell meat? I loved the gaudy Nautica's and was glad for the lesson in true shark eyes vs. false ones. Do the false ones still belong to the moon snail family? Thanks for sharing your shell outing. I must say I would have gone nuts exploring the shell piles, but then we just don't have that kind of thing here in Washington. It would be like the kid turned loose in the candy store.
@SWFBeachLife11 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if people eat the meat of pen shells but if you have a fishing license you can take the sunray venus clams. Go figure right? It was strange to have company/competition on the beach this day! It's been so long since I've really had to share the beach but this location is quite small so all of us shell collectors have to concentrate in one area of the beach. That being said I don't think anyone went home disappointed! 🐚

What time of day did you go there?
@drdrew311 ай бұрын
Low tide. It isn’t a time of day. It varies with the moon phases

A little after 7am.

maybe it's not a good idea to share the exact location... some people might come with big buckets to sweep off all the shells to sell for craft businesses :(

It’s too late. This exact spot is in a dozen different of her videos. Anybody planning a trip just has to search KZbin and her videos fill the results. Great for the health of her channel but no good for the rest of us who used to go there

Is it wrong of me to hear carnitas when you say cardita? 😊 Great video!

Um no - especially with guac and cilantro! 🤣

Char, said with love, but you have serious FOMO when you’re not first. Nobody can get all the shells.

I'm surprised that your secret location doesn't have that typical load, and so many people were shelling that day! Nevertheless, you still manage to get some beautiful shells! ❤
@drdrew311 ай бұрын
If you post your “secret spots” on the internet then anybody on KZbin has them available as well. The crowds will come and the parking spots will disappears. In short order the resources are depleted. This is a well known phenomenon in the fishing community. Amateur fishing shows give away precise locations or show landmarks and the very next day it’s full of boats. Why do you think they call them “followers” ?!?!?
@SWFBeachLife11 ай бұрын
I suspect I'm not really sharing anything that good shellers didn't already know about. There are only so many parking spots so there can only be so many people down there 😌
@drdrew311 ай бұрын
@@SWFBeachLifeYes. The good sellers knew those spots. That’s always been true. But now every Tom, Dick and Harry has them as well. That’s how KZbin works. There’s a price to pay for over sharing

To all shell holders and collectors . You are taking too many shells off the beach. In Japan our critter who look for shells of others to live in can't find them. Beaches are being cleaned of shells
@seriously.....11 ай бұрын
Really no kidding. I've not heard of anything like this before

Japan’s oceans are polluted from industrial waste and much of the filter feeding mollusk populations are critically low. Japan’s lack of shells isn’t due to a handful of SW Florida retirees collecting a satchel of shells on the weekend. It’s got everything to do with factories and nuclear waste effecting the local environment

Do you know what you talking about? There are so mutch sand on the😂 beaches. And Shell's change in to sand, and beach sand is taking over the land. So start investing first before you want to put your input in this video. So if you are wishing you can do what this lady is doing. 😂😂😂😂

I live in Florida. The shells I take will not harm hermit crabs in Japan. I already sent this to you, but here it is again. I will simply delete your comments if you are trying to start nonsense. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moDaZZZogpKaisk

Unlike Japan we are not allowed to take shells with creatures. I see many Asian channels who take the creature with shells.
