You don’t know how he is in an actual kitchen mate. You can tell that Gordon has a more pleasing personality with homecooks compared to Marco here who’s definitely intimidating all the time. I think Gordon can command respect in this way, however, some part of that aggressiveness is played up for TV - especially the American Masterchef and Hell's Kitchen. It's become signature GR. @@nimisha2581 Its all about how you position the fingers of the hand holding the onion or vegetable you are chopping. Use your Ring, middle and index fingers to hold the front, and your thumb on the back. With the trio at the front, keep your middle finger in the front and center, and the other two fingers firm behind. Your middle finger's intermedie phalange's joint should be always touching the blade of the knife, that way, it will always protect the rest of your fingers. Given that won't give you Marco's speed by any means, but it with just a bit of practice (took me a couple of days after I learned it). I was able to check on something else while chopping vegetables without the worry of cutting my fingers.
