I'm excited to see some Kill Teams as I love the 40k setting. I'd love to see your approach for speed painting, but also having a multi-cultural squad. Most warbands when speed painted cut corners by standardizing skin tones, but I always struggle to keep my time down when I try.

Ever since you got me onto oil painting for miniatures I have been crushing out better minis faster than ever. They are truly a game-changer. The smooth blends and slow set-time avoids all the tedium and stress that comes with tons of thin acrylic glazes. And although they set slower, paradoxically you can actually work so much faster as you don't have to worry about making sure each thin glaze is set--as nothing is worse on this earth than spending 2 hours painting a really good-looking face then tearing your third-to-last layer and having to start all over!

Hi! Sadly tempera is not a great medium in general for mini painting and in this particular application lacks the adhesive and structural strength to support the oil step

Hi Macro! I think I've watched all your videos at least twice, I especially rewatch these speed paint ones, and the colour theory ones. You've had me buy so many new things and expand what I can do with my painting as a beginner. It's also been really cool seeing how your own painting style and techniques have changed over the years, thanks for all your hard work! So, a quick question, you use the GW contrast paints so very often, so their transparency, and ability to create darker colours in recesses. But, they're really expensive, and I'm not very eager on buying so many paints I'm not going to be able to mix well together. If you couldn't use GW contrast paints, what would you use instead? Thanks!

I was thinking you were losing the orange a bit after the yellow highlight, but once you added the magenta, it was like magic! Seeing the orange pop back was incredible. I would have never in a million years thought about using a technique like that. Also thank you for explaining the color theory rationality of why you did that.

The joy in your art painting techniques process is highly contagious Marco ! Do you add a final varnish on the miniatures ? Because unfortunately , using FW,Game Color and schmincke airbrush ink for painting and gloss acrylic varnish to protect final result,i have on some aera wrinkle and orange peel .I used the very good VMS gloss varnish(No need thinner,direct from the jar),best acrylic varnish existing,but always problems with inks for paper like FW,Schmincke,etc..and no problem with inks for minis like Citadel shade or contrast,Vallejo ,etc.. Hope one day you will try the GarageKitsColor US ,just perfect Pro airbrush paints. Not yet testing Molotow,but have ultra smooth result with AK interactive Primer.

Hey there, I'm looking up the primer you use here, and it looks like it's not actually a product made for priming? Is that right? Molotow ONE4ALL paint marker refills?? Are these suitable for priming? Because it's hard to find actual primers in colors other than black/white/grey...

Gorgorous work (as always). Trying to replicate something similar for some Infinity Haqqislam models, but getting problems with the airbrushed inks rubbing off or getting reactivated. Do you varnish before moving onto brush work? Or something else?

The "Mr. Vampire" movies from Hong Kong are as close as you'll get to movies about such, that I know of, though I may be wrong. You captured a really nice variation of the classic Shaolin colors, here. What group is this? I know it's a GW kit, and normally my not wanting to give them my money may fall by the wayside here.

Hi Marco, it's hard to to get those Molotow inks in my neck of the midwest United States but Liquitex inks are readily available. Do those serve well as primers in the way that Molotow inks do?

No, inks are very fragile You could try the new AK Dual Exo if you can get those Or vallejo mecha primers, they have many colors as well (actually, even just getting a few empty dropper bottles and mix your own airbrush paint from your standard acrylic paints will be a better primer than inks)

Marco! I ran out of my normal vallejo primer and decided to try the molotow stuff you use. It seems very very fragile! What am I doing wrong: I shake the bejeezus out of it. I apply it straight out my airbrush at about 35 psi. It applies and dries fast, and very smooth. I give it a couple of coats. I leave it to cure overnight (not sure if needed but I do). It doesn't quite rub off, but if I knock a model over or it rubs against another slightly when moving things around, it immediately scratches off. Is this just what this stuff is like, and I need to be ultra careful before I can get more layers of paint/varnish on it? Ps: after finding your channel, your short videos on colour theory and using oil techniques have already helped me greatly, so that you for doing what you do!
