How amazing! I actually got to play guitar for little Richard in the early to mid 80’s. My dear late music director friend Artie McLaughlin got me the gigs. Don’t you wish every day could be like this. Everyone coming together, despite politics, race and creed and just singing together. Look how happy Tom is!

Music has always been a major love in my life. My very first musical memory was seeing Little Richard on TV, and thinking, " I dont know what this is, BUT I LIKE IT! I raised all my children on good music and I played all different kinds of music for my middle son when he was a baby, and his favorite CD was Little Richard. Go figure.

Tom was highly influenced by Little Richard growing up and also Jerry Lee Lewis and Brook Benton...you can hear all their voices in his vocal sound and depending what type of song he's singing...

I really love how Little Richard, Rod Stewart and Tina Turner always sang at the top of their voice not holding anything back and their voice are all unique just like a fond tuned instrument and that's hard when you are screaming into the microphone but each one has its own unique fine tuned pitch. Awesome to watch and hear! Look at the sweat pouring down Little Richard's face...even then he wasn't holding back he put everything he had on the line to entertain the crowds! 😮

@Curtis Ostriker Elvis's career started in 1954. It's doubtful that he would have known anything about Little Richard before he hit the big time with Tutti Frutti a year later. However, that's a minor point. You're right that LR did have a huge influence overall, whether or not Elvis was influenced by him.

@gynack3 жыл бұрын
@@dundalis Wikipedia has a section on the Beatles' musical influences. They mention Little Richard, but make no suggestion of him being their predominant influence. Presley was apparently important, and there were others like Chuck Berry, the Eerly Brothers and Buddy Holly,

Two of my Favorites, I saw Tom one time, Little Richard I have seen him at least 16 times. I mean on the Front Row in Houston at the Arena Theater and the Old Sm Houston Coliseum, that was such a Shindig, that I felt out of place wearing a Suit &Tie and not a TUX. LONG LIVE THE SIXTIES!!!
