Hi what tray canopy have you got on your car it looks great. I'm at port hedland working getting ready to do a canopy on my car. Going to start an adventure in W.A camping and have a good look around over here.
@WildTouring Жыл бұрын
It’s a chassis mount canopy built by ThunderFab in Perth. There’s a build series on my channel if you’re interested. Im pretty sure they’ve built one or two for customers in Port Hedland. www.ThunderFab.com.au

Hey cam, did dad4x4 fix his camper after 80mile beach? Not sure how much was damaged. Cool little trip guys cheers 🍻
@WildTouring Жыл бұрын
That was Keith’s MDC Robson that got battered by the wind at 14mile. He got a set of aluminium poles to replace all the damaged ones and somehow all of the canvas held up okay! So it’s better than new now!

Another great video. I really enjoy it down south. The family trips are great. One question I have for you is about the canopy. I am about to have a canopy fitted to my Ranger and am a little concerned about heat build up. Do you have any problems with this and if so what would you recommend to reduce the temperature in the canopy?
@WildTouring Жыл бұрын
Thanks Lyall! Nah I've never had dramas with heat build up in canopies (even in 40+ weather). I can only put that down to giving the fridge and electrical gear ample room for airflow, and mounting solar panels to the top with an air gap, which acts a bit like a tropical roof - air flows between the panels and the roof, and with most of the roof in shade there is less heat soak from the sun.
@lyallwithers2516 Жыл бұрын
@Wild Touring thanks for that Cam.
@stephenwrigglesworth3650 Жыл бұрын
Hi Cam, what is the maximum amps you have seen going back into your batteries from the solar.
@WildTouring Жыл бұрын
G'day Stephen, have been seeing consistently around 700w/60a (at 12v) through the peak of the day.
