Todays famous grave visit, I visit the grave of Dame Margaret Rutherford actress.
Dame Margaret Taylor Rutherford, DBE (11 May, 1892 - 22 May, 1972) was an English actress of stage, television and film.
She came to national attention following World War II in the film adaptations of Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit, and Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. She won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her role as the Duchess of Brighton in The V.I.P.s (1963). In the early 1960s, She starred as Agatha Christie's character Miss Marple in a series of four George Pollock films. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1961 and a Dame Commander (DBE) in 1967.

I am a huge Dame Margaret Rutherford fan! There has never been an actress like her before, or since. I visted her grave about eight years ago and was surprised to see no flowers on it. Absolutely agree on both counts, Angie. Ron Goodwins theme tune is a fantastic blend of harpsichord, violin & guitar, to give a kind of brisk, stately, rock feel. I fell in love with it as a boy in the early 70's with Murder She Said. & loved the depiction of a lovely 50's English village community that may only have existed in spirit or imagination, - but nonetheless makes me long to return to time after time when modern life gets too stressful. 😅 We all need our little escape now & again. Margaret & Stringer seemed equally devoted on screen & off. May they rest in peace.

Although I was only a young child when she died, Margaret Rutherford will always be one of my all time favourite actresses. Nothing pleases me more on a cold winters day to be in the warmth, watching one of her old films. Aunt Clara, along with the Runaway Bus being a couple of my favourites films she starred in. Such a lovely lady, and so very talented. No matter what is happening in life, sitting down to watch one of her films for a couple of hours always makes things seem well again. I truly echo your sentiments at the end when you thank her. A remarkable person indeed.

Margaret was most def the best Miss Marple & a fantastic actress with dry wit. She really didnt have the best childhood till she went to live with her aunt, but sounds like she did the best for her. Thanks Paul for another great vid. 😊😊
