10 years ago I was playing in a snow bank outside my New Jersey home with one of my best childhood friends. Later that year she moved across the pond to the UK. After that, our only method of connection was through Facebook. I'd sometimes see her updates on my news feed, but apart from that, I grew up in America and she grew up in England.
People grow up. People grow apart. But when you have the chance to rekindle an old friendship, why not? Studying abroad in London has given me the opportunity to see her again. How much has changed, can we still recall moments in our lives together? Are we doing similar things in our lives? How have our personalities changed? How has she transitioned into British culture from American culture? And does she consider herself American, British, or both?
