I’ve been keto for a couple of years, but find when I bloat and my weight goes up, the protein sparing modified fast is my saving Grace. I’m starting to think my body prefers 100% lean protein. Which making having my sweet tooth, very difficult. Love the Art of Fat Loss book!

I have been intermittent fasting for three months and it’s great not to have to eat first thing in the morning. I eat about 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. I have much more time on my hands and definitely buy less food! I love the stable blood sugar.

Curious your thoughts on combining IF and PSMF? I find it much easier to feel full and follow a PSMF day if I do a longer IF, like 18-22 hour fast, and then do 2 meals fairly close together of pure protein. I find if I have 3 meals, or even try to do 2 meals spread out more, it is harder to keep the cravings at bay and I am hungrier throughout.

Please advise - I am severely obese. I already do OMAD (2-hour eating window) water only during fast & eat keto (not strict) - have done for long time & have no issues with one meal a day. Hi Maria - I purchased both of you PSMF books. Just tried the French Toast Porridge today, it was really good. Have you ever "hard boiled" liquid egg whites? I want to try your chocolate pudding & the creamsicle breakfast smoothie, but I'm not sure that would be a lot of yolks to find something different to do with. Can you "hard boil" the liquid egg whites that come in a carton?

Hello Guys Thx again for the great info. I have 2 questions though... I want to drop 13/14 pounds (about 6 kg). I am not overweight but have a bit of fat that I want to get rid of to go back the size I was before my kids. I always been thin and pretty lean but always had big thighs. I do keto/carnivore and Omad mostly because when I eat I need to EAT. I don’t know how to eat tiny meals several times a day. I feel hungry all the time. Not satisfied. Sometimes I do twomads (when I am with my family). • If I do the PSMF protocol for 2/3 days followed by the Fast fat loss protocol for the rest of the week (like suggested by your calculator), isn’t it going to mess my metabolism ? Because it’s 700 to 1100 cal/ day. • How much time I need to do it to avoid yo-yo dieting ? Once (if) I reach my goal and when I want to maintain my weight by increasing calories, am I not going to gain the weight back following this method ? I am so afraid to put on all the weight lost like usually do. Because I gain more each time. Thanks a lot !

The way I understand it, the macros provided by Maria's calculator are for your lean body mass, so that won't change, even at your goal weight. Just do the regular keto macros, not the modified protein sparing days to maintain

Very helpful Video! So, I've been Keto since 2017. I do both Fat Loss Macros & PSMF Macros 2x a week. I know how you feel about Alcohol, and I'm slowly weening myself away from it, but how would you adjust Macros if you have an occasional Drink or two? Hi, I purchased your Art of Fat loss book. On page 70, step 2 says “breaking up pieces until pork” there is no pork listed In the Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipe. And later step 3 says “sausage mixture “. The ingredient list calls for lean ground turkey not pork- can you clarify please? Thank you!

Eating more protein does it increase your insulin ?? and does high protein kicks you out of ketosis ?? Do I increase my protein and eat that way (higher protein ) everyday for a leaner body (I’m on Omad ) I eat keto/Omad I do not snack or do bulletproof coffee my calories are 2000 +everyday and I walk 4miles everyday.. I have not lift any weights because of my job timing ..I walk from 6:00am and finish to get to work I work 7 days a week ..

I just completed 5 months of keto, lost 45 lbs. I’m 5.1 only, and need to lose 15-20 more lbs only to be at my healthiest weight/BMI. Is PSMF something that would be helpful for me you think? Also I don’t workout, but thinking of incorporating some sort of easy weight lifting regimen to my weekly life. I am just learning about this method, so I don’t know much yet.

I have a question about PSMF. If I have a lot of excess fat on my body, then why do I need to make sure I have 30g fat per day? Wouldn't my excess body fat be like adding in fat to the diet? I know there is a metabolic process that makes this differ than simply adding dietary fat...? I find it difficult to keep calories low while also having exactly 30g fat per day. Thanks Maria 😄

Hello! The minimum fat required per day is 30-40 grams. So to do a PSMF day we want that fat as low as possible. Our Ebook The Art of Fat Loss has recipes and meal plans that shows you how easy it is to stay in your macros for those 2-3 days of doing PSMF. 😊

Stephanie Person definitely preaches very very high fat and recommends 40-50g protein for women. Both have different views.

You can have different views, but the science and biology only says one thing. The fat you eat goes to your fat cells and the protein you need to get at least 0.8 times your lean mass or more to maintain muscle. Studies have repeatedly shown this.

A protein-sparing modified fast (PSMF) is a way to reduce carbs and fat as much as possible while still hitting your protein goal or even getting a bit more protein than your target. Just natural broke diets of eggs, I found a few eggs and I wasn't hungry. These days I pretty much cook enough beef to grease the pan and use a half dozen eggs to hold that grease in a beef eggs omlet. I'm not hungry anymore. For the day. Unless I stay up past my sleepyhead time. Maybe because I'm bigger or older but I just don't eat much compared to what y'all are talking about. I'm 50 and 5'10@230. Was 255 a couple months ago. But I'm not hungry.

@@MariaEmmerich not to sound funny, but if my body says stop when I'm eating beef and eggs, I'm positive I've gotten enough protein. If you need 14 eggs to meet your concept on a protein macro you're eating way too much. Seriously. A half dozen eggs and most people are omad.

How long can one safely do PSMF? Is it depending on the amount of fat you have lose? So the macros from the calculator were sad -900 nonPSMF and 500 for PSMF days... lol. I have a ton of weight to lose... I have heard that doing low calories will damage my metabolism- honestly I feel it’s already damaged, otherwise why have I been vastly overweight over a substantial majority of my entire life? So is this okay? That low of calories for the long haul of losing maybe 150 or so lbs? Should I just get Bariatric surgery then proceed with these ways of eating? I did keto for fertility in 2017/2018 lost about 30lbs -got pregnant summer2018. I had my son and then 4 month postpartum got pregnant again!! I had a daughter 5 days after my sons 1st birthday! My family is feeling pretty complete right about now -well biologically anyway! My weight has skyrocketed, with ppd from 2 pregnancies and the last being during a pandemic certainly didn’t help that at all. Not following anything right now... I want to know that my next steps will work, I want and need to be successful for my own life and for my family! I really wanted to go the carnivore route this time around as I haven’t tried it. I love following Dr.Berry and feel like I am struggling to decide between PSMF and Carnivore. Do you have any suggestions for me?

I’m thin as it is so I only do 16 hour fast but for Autophagy … not to lose weight. If I see that I’m losing weight , I stop the 16 hour fast.

I don’t do fasting, I do time restricted eating. There is a difference. I don’t eat breakfast. Eat in a 6 hour window, not for the weight loss, but the health benefits…..
