Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller were photographed outside Parkside House in London, England of July 1956 before heading for a press conference.
The press conference for ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’ was held at the Savoy Hotel where Marilyn wore a James Galanos dress, with a mesh detailing at the upper belly, which was deemed "too daring".
Marilyn resided for the majority of her time in the UK at Parkside House, home to the 11th Earl Drogheda and his wife in Surrey.
Throughout her stay, Marilyn and her husband Arthur were often hosted by friends, peers and aristocracy.

I think that she was "Wonderful" in this film. Yes she had to cope with Miller's crap and Olivier's put downs but she was a pro. She overcame both of them to give an amazing performance. I love truly fall in love with her every time I watch it.

She looks great here. That ogre Miller hasn't completely destroyed her spirit yet. He left an unflattering note about her out so she would be sure to see it while there filming a movie which wasn't very good BTW. LO wasn't very good in it and deliberately tried to belittle Marilyn. Hated reading what she said at end because Miller sure didn't feel that way about her. I liked her dress and didn't consider it "too daring".

Another snapshot in time. Hard to find photos compiled together to see more of the big picture. I've always loved the photos of her with that English bicycle that they gave to her as a gift. I think I've only ever seen two of them. Published in a book. Wonder what ever became of Marilyn's bicycle ?
