Taylor writes her own music and plays multiple instruments. There are many versions to Taylor: pop, country, synth, folk, heart wrenching ballads, and she raps really well, too. We are hoping she writes a rock album some day. If you ever want to see the edgy side to Taylor, you could check out the intro and first two songs from her Reputation tour. There is enough variety in her discography for everyone to enjoy.

She 100% is just an insanely creative person. This song was on an album called Folklore - one of two albums she wrote, recorded, and released (all remotely) during the COVID lockdowns, so over the course of just a few months. She's also confirmed in interviews that she litters her music, videos, and even her social media posts and outfits with Easter eggs in them that hint at upcoming works. She's quite a referential artist, so having an understanding of history, film, literature, and general pop culture really enhances listening to her music, because there are a lot of lyrical references to other mediums. Even within her own songs she'll have subtle callbacks to older works of hers.

Taylor got famous when I was 12 and now I’m 30 lol I saw her 3rd album tour for my 16th birthday. She’s been in the game so long and every generation is loving her.

Lyricist........ she has been writing her own songs since she was 13 years old. Not only is she a lyricist. She can play guitar and piano. But, if she knows someone can help her with a song. She will ask for help. To make the song and the music 🎵 the best it can be for the fans and people listening 🎧.

You mentioned what environment she grew up in. On her new album she has a lyric that helps explain, “You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me” She entered the music industry quite young and she has gotten a lot of hate over the years. She is a top tier lyricist. Exceptional business woman. She released The Eras Tour movie directly to theaters which has boosted the economy for that industry. By cutting out the middle man she impacted a dying business model in a hugely positive way.

There’s that huge smile again. You’re starting with some great songs. I’m so excited to see you go down this journey. Taylor writes all her music and sometimes has others write with her….which she will ALWAYS credit. She has so many lyrics that tie into other music of hers so it makes a whole universe. You’re gonna have so much fun listening to her lyrics. I see reactors regularly realize a few songs in that her pen is something serious.

Sometimes she is in a frenzy of creativity. Sometimes songs are a long time coming, this song I think she wrote with her boyfriend at the time Joe (William Bowery) in probably an afternoon. They sent it to Bon Iver (Justin Vernon) and he added the “so step right out part). All of folklore was written, produce in 4 mos. A lot of the tracks were produced by Aaron Dessner who said he sent her a backing track to the song Cardigan, went for a run, and when he returned from the run she had the entire song lyrically completed.

This song hits every time! No ghost writers for Taylor. She’s honed her writing skills over the years to the point where she’s literally a poet, and Ivy League schools like Harvard and Stanford have classes centered around her use of metaphors and poetry in writing! Great reaction and look foreword to more reactions! P.S. react to her Long Pond studio sessions which she’s only done for Folklore. She discusses the meaning of the lyrics with her producer “s Aaron and Jack and then they record a stripped down version of each song in the studio. It was during Covid so they’re out in the boonies. It’s great!

Agreed. Also, I thought I read somewhere that some colleges are offering marketing classes using Taylor's marketing strategies. They say she is a marketing genius but that wasn't my major.

another great taylor reaction...i would love to see you react to her songs LOML and MY TEARS RICOCHET ...both amazing songs....they both have lyric videos ...the song my tears ricochet is about the man who signed her at the beginning of her career at i believe 14 years old...he was like a second father to her and then when she wanted to buy the masters to her first 6 albums he went and sold them instead to someone who she considered an enemy...that is why she is re recording her first six albums to get the rights to them and own them herself...she has done 4 re recorded albums so far...two more to go

Loved your reaction! I recommend reacting to the long pond studio sessions where you can see her sing live and explain the meaning behind the songs of folklore. Another recommendation I would give if you want to check out some of her upbeat songs would be her live performances on the rep tour the into+ ready for it is my fav!

To answer your question about Taylor's creativity, it's a bottomless well & for the last four to five years she has been hyper productive ( she's released three original albums re-recorded four of her first six albums and been on the massive Eras tour!) She tends to write pretty quickly and I can't tell you how many writing sessions I've seen of her or heard about in an interview where she said she just woke up in the middle of the night (2 to 4:00 a.m. is usually the time songs come to her) but most of them come either fully formed or the majority of the song. Taylor crosses every genre. She started writing music before she was double digits in age. She plays guitar, drums, piano, and writes all her lyrics and most of her music. She directs many of her videos, and she is a brand worth a billion just by her music alone.
