So glad to see you with a Taylor reaction again, hope you're doing well 💜 You don't have to react to it but in your free time I highly recommend looking up a recorded from The Eras Tour when she played it as a surprise song, she sang Bon Iver's part and the crowd filled in the duet for her (Exile ft the crowd). Nobody weaves the tapestry of love and longing like Taylor Swift. Her lyrics are the patchwork quilt of our childhoods - no matter the era - and we feel safe in her songs to relive our trauma. That we've survived (or are still surviving) our own pain, and celebrate our bad-assery through dancing and singing our hearts out with her is magic. I'm so happy for the millions of people who got to witness the Eras Tour energy in person. I've been catching the live streams as much as possible, as a brand new #SwiftieOver50

That was so good! I'm a neophyte Swiftie , but a longtime fan of Bon Iver. I think he intended it to be pronounced in French, due to the back story. I can't show you, but I'm wearing my Bon Iver t-shirt as I type this! It's from his first tour, for the album "For Emma, Forever Ago". One of the best shows I ever saw, in a lifetime of shows. You might know the song "Skinny Love", from that album. It's wormed its way into the pop lexicon.

When I heard this song for the first time, I sought out different reactions for close to 20-25 listens. Beautiful song and vocals. Justin Vernon (aka Bon Iver) has an AMAZING range. This song on The Long Pond Sessions (during Covid) is FANTASTIC!! Even though he’s wearing a mask due to the camera crew in his studio, he still sounds flawless. It’s even a bit better on the LP sessions; hard to believe! I hope you do have a chance to find it with them talking about this at the beginning of the song. Please look for the interview with Jack, Aaron and Taylor. It’s incredible to hear how this song came about. Even Taylor had her moments of insecurity and it’s adorable. Aaron to the rescue to get Justin on board! ❤🎤💯🥰

There's a song that I always associate with this song on her 'RED' album. It's with Gary Lightbody (the lead singer from Snow Patrol) and it's incredibly underrated and it's a very similar kind of vibe (just with a more "radio friendly"/commercial approach I guess). I would love to see you react to that! It's called 'The Last Time'.

hey Saeed! i've been going down a rabbit hole of all your TS reactions and i love how you look so deeply into everything and really appreciate her lyrics and i would be love it if you were ever interested in checking out some of Halsey's stuff. along with Taylor Swift, she's one of my favorite artists in terms of lyricism, she also writes all of her stuff and brilliantly so. her latest album The Great Impersonator is just absolutely heartwrenching and incredible. idk if you'll read this comment but i feel like it's worth a shot so i'll give you some backstory. Halsey was diagnosed with lupus and a blood cell disease and she thought she was going to die, so she wrote this album thinking it was going to be the last thing she would leave people with. for each track, she has taken inspiration from the artists that have inspired her throughout her creative journey and made each song in the style of said artist (hence the title The Great Impersonator) but the lyrics are very much her own and very personal, tackling themes like her disease, mortality, motherhood, mental illness, intergenerational trauma, just a lot of heavy stuff. the songs i would recommend for you to react to are Dog Years (in the style of PJ Harvey), Darwinism (David Bowie), The End (Joni Mitchell) and Arsonist (Fiona Apple). also she has 3 songs titled "Letter to God" scattered throughout the album which are a continuation of each other and tell a very heartbreaking story. love your Taylor reactions and i'm looking forward to more, but if you're looking for a new artist i highly recommend Halsey!

Taylor credited her ex boyfriend Joe Alwyn from the 6 relationship that ended last year with writing most of the piano for whole song apart from the bridge which Bon Iver wrote. Joe also wrote the entire full lyrics of the first verse. He wrote under the pen name William Bowery so that all the press would be about her very new folk/indie sound and not that she and her BF were writing music together. Aaron Dessner said on that same Long Pond Studio discussion of that song that he was really sad that they couldn't record Joe playing the piece himself because of Covid restrictions. But they were able to have him play and record the piano scores he wrote for songs like Champagne Problems and Evermore on the Evermore studio album 😊
@emmavink3 ай бұрын
I think a LOT of Swifties miss the high lyrical probability that Exile is the first song in the Joe break up trilogy. Exile is the imagined break up. You're Losing Me is the impending breakup. So Long London is the aftermath to the breakup. There are so many parallels between So Long London and Exile. She often described her relationship with Joe as her homeland, her birthright (on How Did It End), her/his shore, their favourite apartment/house, the light in that space, the relationship as their town. And in So Long London she even says, "I'm just mad as hell cause I loved this place". Not only London, but the home that they had made together wherever they were for 6 years 😢
