Yeah, grief isn't linear and it isn't consistent in the same person. When I lost my grandmother, I went to work the next day because I didn't know what else to do. A few years later, I lost my grandfather and was exhausted for days. They had been married for over 50 years and I was close to both of them. We aren't going to get aggressive with others' grief. We're going to support people or be quiet.

I'm in a better headspace today and am able to watch the video, and I have to say it makes me a bit angry. I say this as someone who lost their husband - the world goes on. Nobody has to say they're sorry, nobody has to be nice to you because of it. I 100% get where she's coming from, and I empathize with her, but the reality is the world goes on. When you realize the world goes on and nasty people are still nasty, it's your responsibility to remove yourself from the situation. Because for the first year (at least!) nothing you do will be sane no matter what you think. You'll be six thousand times more emotional than your worst PMS mood swings.
