hey stuart how would i go about singing while playing a combination of notes/ chords, finger style, or one note riffs and singing?obviously in this instance the pendulum method not very applicable. I often find that it’s VERY hard to keep tempo and not mess up when i’m trying to play a combination of notes and chords while singing. any advice would be great 👍

It’s not that hard to sing and play, basically, when you chord transition that’s your cue to stay in time with the melody of the song while singing the lyrics. What’s difficult is playing a riff while singing. Example, “ come as you are” by Nirvana. It appears that there are two separate melodies with this song, one while singing the verse and the other while playing the riff. It’s hard, give it a try. To sing and play let’s play let’s take simple song like Neil young, heart of gold, so when you start singing you’ll be transitioning from an A minor to a C chord so for example; “ I want to (transition to C chord) live” then transition to a D chord while singing “ I want to give” its simple, a caveman can do it. But like I said, playing a riff and singing at the same time is going to be a challenge. Kurt Cobain was a very talented musician
