Yeah it’s been an amazing time to be a fan of Mario rpgs what with the remakes of super Mario rpg , thousand year door and the return of the Mario and Luigi series

Luigi following Mario no matter what, (without player input) as well as him not being controlled by the B button in combat really threw me off. I can see why it upset some people. But overall, I think the changes they made to Luigi give him so much personality and presence, and make the overworld puzzle solving just that much more interesting. I think the best thing to do is treat this game as more of a reboot, rather than a new entry, because this isn’t really alphadreams work, but rather a new dev team that poured their blood, sweat, and tears into making an experience that was both Mario and Luigi, as well as a brand new experience. And honestly, after shifting my mindset to this, I’ve been having a blast, they really did an amazing job, and this is such a phenomenal game. I really hope this isn’t a one time thing.

Just fyi because you were wondering why the stats were so varied between bros they actually changed it in this game probably in replacement of the stat vonus thing from past games mario and luigi just have particular stats that grow more for them in particular the game tells you i think on first level up but its easy to miss If i remember right and take this with a grain of salt Mario has higher stats in Power BP and Speed While luigi had better stats in Health Defense and stache hence why his stache is higher than marios out the gate figuref id just clarify

5:12 again the themes of brotherships are ingored, because this would've been a perfect case were these enemies are brothers and bro lost his bro, So he would become a boss who gets stronger the longer you take to kill him, or well sorta. It would be a mechanic that may or maynot happen, were upon killing an enemy ally, they vary on their reaction to it granting them different buffs or debuffs or both. This would also apply to mario and luigi, though instead of a maybe would be a certainly and each brother has their own boost.(It would be more of a last stand thing if you'd like, were you can make decision of RUnning away, calming your nerves or going all in) Mario would gain a heavy damage and armor boost, Every turn increasing his damage and gaining some BP, at the cost of his speed. Luigi gains a Stache and Speed boost, Gaining BP and Damage boost that increases each turn he succeeds in an Excellent Hit, At the cost of his Armor going down. They would still carry each other when dodgin as a caring punishment for you not paying attention.
