Modification idea: what if a win on the hill grants an additional life. A loss still knocks you out but you stay on the wheel with a chance to retake. That way the final person cant just win by only playing one game. Thoughts?

The unfortunate reality is if you go first you’re basically doomed to lose. While not impossible the statistics don’t lie. Whoever goes first has a .05% chance of winning. Maybe just spin the wheel to see who’s king first so Mario isn’t automatically screwed over

Statistically, King of the Hill favors whoever is picked last. If every game has a 50% chance of winning since they are all 0 overall, the more games you have to play the tougher it is. Think of it like flipping a coin. Flipping 10 heads straight is harder than flipping heads just once at the end (and other 9 flips before dont matter). Same way its easier to just play and win one game at the end than go through the gauntlet of winning game after game. But it is fair because everyone still has an equal chance of being picked early or late.... except for mario who was forced into going first hahaha.

Yeah it’s super unfair for Mario especially. I think an easy fix to this king of the hill formula is if the king loses they get knocked off the hill but not eliminated and if the challenger loses then they get eliminated.

Idea: Mario Super Sluggers but the original 60 baseball teams from Wii Sports are put in a bracket and must face off against each other until there is only one team left standing. (Note: All 60 teams have the original nine Miis from the original game. Characters should only be eliminated as challengers. Ie if a character is the King of the Hill and they lose they go back into the player pool and can challenge for it again, if a challenger loses, they’re done.
