Because we all grew up with mario as a kid. So it gives of a sense of peace. No worries, no life problems, the only problems being us hiding the DS under our pillows to prevent getting caught. But Kids will never experience this type of feeling because its about fortnite nowadays which I don’t hate but not a fan of. And not to mention Satoru Iwatas death, hope that man is resting well.

the way it was all presented, I bet. The way you push through everything in your path to defeat everyone in your way, and recruit a few new faces along the journey, and then after that final trophy-- Mirror Lightning (or Special if you wanted to end on a rainbow), and in the credits, you moving past everyone in the end. You overcame everything, and the game-- while it's out of things to reward you with-- wanted to commemorate that.

​@@silverfire7388 *YES!!!* I remember in 2011 before MK7 came out people were thinking it was gonna be the greatest MK game of all time, but instead we got a game that wasn't well done that's full of trollers. If it wasn't for those trollers, MK7 Police and Logan Pham-Nguyen wouldn't be around. MKDS was my childhood. It was the first MK game I ever played, and I first played it when I was 7. I'm 20 now, and this is one of those tunes where I get goosebumps and feel emotional every time I hear it. In my opinion, MKW is the greatest MK game of all time, but I think MKDS is a very close second. I don't want to play MK7, but it's what I've got. The MK7 community hates me, but I'm very well respected in MKDS and MKW.

I remember me and my brother used to play this game all the time, we'd always team on the NPCs so that we'd place top 2. We were good sports back then, but now my brother gets mad when I beat him at anything. But one day we can go back to being ok with the other beating us. Maybe if I go to gamestop and purchase two copies and charge our DS's we could do a few thousand more races. Point is, this game was part of my childhood I may pretty much still be a child but still I miss the early 2000s.

I barely remember getting this ending after doing all the missions one night when I was about 5 or 6, this also happened as I was being drove home from a long trip. Seeing the ending screen after the credits also only made that night more memorable to me. Looking back, it feels so much like a dream, and I honestly envy some things that my younger self had in the late 2000s and early 2010s. I promise to check back on this game once the same ds I had is eventually fixed.

I recently played the game again after years of not playing and finally got gold in each cup. It was surprising when I was that the credits featured DK instead of the normal Mario (or Luigi), and even more surprised when it sped up and played the new version. I also finally unlocked the 7th their of mission mode.

It was my first DS game too! Heck, I even got it in 2012 as well. However instead of a DS, I have gotten a 3DS. Although two years ago, I bought myself my DS lite. As I enjoy playing DS on there more than the 3DS. Since the D pad is higher and softer. So it’s more comfortable to play.

I remember playing the game recently on my o2ds, and wow. The first time I heard this song in my new gameplay it was... it was just so special in the good way... probably the best Mario Kart game I ever played (it's also my very first Mario Kart game and one of my first video game) I remember playing this game locally with some family and recently with friends who sadly never played the game, but loves it too, and now knowing the fact that the game will turn 20 years old in 2 years and a half make me feel old... This game was so great. I remember opening the box in the car on a rainy day while we were getting some Domino's. I'd finally saved enough money to buy it and it was my second DS game, NSMB was the first. Good times, I played the hell out of it anf pretty much 100%'ed it. I would play balloon battle with my sister and picked Block Fort 80% of the time

Both versions of the staff credits are amazing, but I definitely do prefer this version overall! The staff deserve every ounce of credit they get for this masterpiece. Mario Kart DS is by far my favourite Mario Kart game, closely followed by Mario Kart Wii, then Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!
