Likely the credits can fully render the track due to being devoid of the racer sprites, given there's so many different sprites for every character, the N64 probably focuses on them during races and loads the track secondary.

I think either the ai and players where not there to reduce lag or it is pre recorded from a stronger piece of software used during. Or maybe the console can render the whole track but it was just unnecessary considering you cant see the whole track.

Always loved this end credit scene- use to beat the game with my daughter and we would watch it together... that being said, ... the music was a little out of sync =P The music playing when on the rainbow level highlighting the star is actually what plays when zooming into the red arrow at the haunted house =D

Dokter Dog Games that’s because he is using an emulator cheat that stretches the cameras view , also he took away to border . That’s why everything looks like it’s stretched like that , and also way it goes threw walls sometimes. On a normal cartridge this would have looked normal .
