5:02. For those wondering why LOD is used for other racers… It actually stands for "Level Of Detail". Games usually have multiple models for a single character, and those models dynamically switch between each other depending on your distance to them. Specifically in Mario Kart, the low LOD model is used for other racers, as usually they're away from the screen, and even if they're close, they're moving and remain close for only a second or two, instead of always having them close and in a fixed position on-screen, hence why your character always have more detail than the others

I have a feeling the STDLOD1TEST Kart is testing the Level of Detail in the game, as in if a kart is far from you it loads LOD Level 3 (which is low poly) and then 2 at mid distance, 1 at close (full quality)

There is some extra interesting info about the unused mario circuit track, there is no bottom screen map texture but instead, a map 3d model, just like mkwii handles the minimap. This might mean that they used a lot of features from the previus wii game but were changed in the game's development.

I find it really stupid that they would just scrap the Mega Mushroom that was one of the best items in Mario kart wii and the fake item box wasn't really all that grate of a item but it was a Mario kart staple and it felt like something was lost in Mario kart 7 & 8

Everyone here, it’s not hacked yet, well it KIND OF is, but not fully. You can’t really do anything if you do plus you need to have an older version. But yes, switch games, including odyssey, have been ripped. All you have to do is put them into a special attachment for a computer, or do it from your switch

5:00 LOD stands for Level Of Detail! Games often save on resources by swapping regular models for low poly models when the object is far away from the camera. There can be multiple models for multiple levels of detail depending on how far the object is away from the camera. STD= Standard LOD1= Either the first or second model to be swapped out for the standard model as the objects goes farther away from the camera Test = Test The were likely seeing what one of the lower poly models looked like up close in game

This game is part of the whole mario franchise which features games like super mario sunshine, super mario 64, super mario galaxy, super mario 3d world, super mario odyssey for the nintendo switch and many more. This isn't the only mario kart game, there are a ton like mario kart 8 deluxe and mario kart wii. And this game has a ton of unused/early build/ beta content! We get to these hidden gems by using glitches, hacks, cheats and looking through the files. So let's have a look at what mario, peach, toad, luigi, wario, waluigi and all the other characters have to deal with, and no i'm not talking about rainbow road. *lol gotta get those tags in*

Honestly. I wish Mario Kart tracks were not all 3-laps. It was great that they added variety with the 3-section tracks, because each section is quite different. They started doing this lap-variety in Double Dash. Baby Park being 7 laps and Wario Colosseum being 2 laps. I'd love variety. Longer tracks with less laps (I see you, Rainbow Road N64) and shorter tracks with mode laps
