This was Gouda, but it could have been chedder. It doesn't give much room to brie, but other than that, it was quite cheesy. But cheesus, I swiss this track would come earlier.

This track looks really awesome, but I wish they had gone with the night time/moon background, a la Super Circuit. It would have been more suitable (moon? cheese?), and overall, it would have been cooler to see.

With MK8's HD graphics you would've most likely want to put in in space because then the cheese would have a lovely melted glow to it and there was a moon in the background and that would've looked cool in HD too plus the anti-gravity would've fit better in a space theme anyway then in a dry looking desert, the only reason i could possibly think that they went with a desert look is because cheese and sand is yellow however this cheese road isn't all that yellow unfortunately and it looks like sand only...

When you think about it, a lot of the creative decisions they made with this remake make a lot of sense. Mario Kart 8 already has two desert tracks. Dry Dry Desert from Double Dash is bright, sunny, and even has an oasis section to make it feel livelier. Meanwhile, new track Bone Dry Dunes is dark and inhospitable, with rivers of sand, bones everywhere, and undead on the prowl. How do you differentiate a new desert track from those? Set it in the mountains and put a focus on changes in elevation, something the current ones don't do! And of course, it only makes sense for a track that originally had some ridiculous shortcuts to have so many (less game breaking) shortcut opportunities in its remake.

We should get a track for DLC or in MK9 that's Super Mario 64 themed. Like, it shows you all of the highlights of the game and stuff. Here's a list of all the cool things you could have going for this track. -start outside and drive your way into Peach's castle -Now you drive into the painting for Bobomb battle field, and the music changes to the bobomb battlefield theme. -drive to the top of the mountain and exit the track by giving each driver a star powerup This is only one level in SM64, but if they could do something like this for other parts of SM64 and turn it into a race track for Mariokart, that would be awesome. People would buy that like crazy

They just kind of roamed the track and chomped on anything in their way.... and in MK8 on Rainbow Road they turned them into bouncing balls that create ripples on the road. These aren't the same behaviors that they have in the Mario games, which is that they are chained up and attack anything that comes near by lunging at them.

Just an FYI, I'm 95% sure that the two hole shortcuts you pointed out are actually the same one. There's a gameplay video showing about 1.5 laps and there aren't enough turns between the weaving part and the ramp leading to antigravity for two shortcuts like that.
