Mehdi Sadik I don't think Cat Peach is that much easier to make, as she has her own model, animations, and voice bites. Which actually makes the inclusion of these alternate forms as "characters" even more baffling.

Mehdi Sadik The model I'll grant you, as that could be ported over. The voice bites are likely to be almost entirely (if not actually entirely) brand-new, and the animations certainly have to be. So while it is _a bit_ easier than creating a new character completely, I highly doubt they don't already have such assets for Diddy, Birdo, or Bowser Jr.

The Tanooki tails on the bike kind of confirm that the buggy that Tanooki Mario was using in the Yoshi Circuit video probably isn't a Tanooki-themed kart, and is just a normal buggy instead. Also, you can now have 4 versions of Mario in one race: normal, baby, Tanooki and metal.

That kart is called the Tanooki Kart (or Tanooki Buggy in North America), so it most certainly is designed after the Tanooki power-up.

That vehicle is indeed called the Tanooki Buggy/kart, so it is Tanooki Mario themed just as the Cat Cruiser is Cat Peach themed.

The original Excitebike had nighttime (blue) tracks, as seen in some of the footage you've shown. I could see the excite bike DLC track also having this. E.G. 2:20

i found when playing this track, it changes on different modes. i noticed it changed from single player vs race, single player grand prix, two player vs and prix, three player vs and prix and finally four player vs and prix. in each mode, i noticed that the location of the mud puddles changed too. sometimes they'd be under or infront of the overhang jump, or none at all, plus the fact that on the turns, they can either right beside eachother on the sides or middle, them completly apart on the sides, or the space mud space mud and vice versa.

There is one more thing: I believe that the 3D Excite Bike statue is actually the same model used on the 3DS' Home screen banner thing for the 3D Classics version of Excite Bike. Of course I can't confirm that without seeing the full mesh and textures of both versions, but they at least look pretty much identical.

I think the reason Bowser got so much air in that last jump may be because he did a backflip on that last one and Mario didn't. Its a stretch but it might be an homage to Excitebike since pulling back while hitting a ramp would give you more air than if you didn't. That's just my observation.

My other jump theory is that at 1:07 I believe that there are ten racers at the large jump part, so since Bowser was the only one who got major air, the odds of getting a large jump is 1-10. I know it is a bit of a stretch, but it is an idea.

***** Just after 3:23 if you look closely you can see Bowser,once again, getting some ridiculous amount of air time. I think to get that amount of air time you need to get 3 tricks in a row along with no items. (possibly it could be the fact that on the 3rd trick you need to get a coin, that may explain the fact that at the end of each jump it has 4 coins 1 for each row)

I thought this track was an awesome inclusion for the DLC, but when you mentioned how parts will randomly arrange/generate together, my wallet became self-aware, vomited up eleven bucks, and told me to embrace my destiny and take control of the world. Wasn't in the mood for that, but hey eleven bucks, so I bought the DLC instead. Was still going to at some point, but now that it's almost here, certainly worth grabbing now.

Maybe they'll have it where if you own the DLC, you'll be put into a DLC lobby. If you don't own the DLC, you'll be put into a normal lobby. That's how Call of Duty does it, I believe.

This could actually mean that the jeep in the previous trailer isn't really a tanooki themed jeep. It could mean that it only looks that way because tanooki mario is using it. This is not that big of a deal but I hope that it means just that, i don't really like it when vehicles don't change color design according to their driver.

I think I might know the big jump works. Bowser was the only one shown who did a backflip. I know, Cat Peach did a backflip later, but it was on a smaller ramp, and she did get some distance on it. Maybe if you do a backflip on a large ramp, you get a large jump!

I really love these DLC packs, but I don't want to see Sonic in this game. Please don't stereotype me as a fanboy, because I'm not. I don't want Sonic because Nintendo and Sega are two different companies. Also I love how people are saying there's a high chance of Sonic in Mario Kart 8 because of the Sonic Lost World DLC. There's actually a low chance. Want me to prove it? Back when Nintendo was making Mario Kart Wii, Sega asked Nintendo to add Sonic elements to Mario Kart Wii. Nintendo refused.

If you think back to Mario Kart super circuit, the course Sunset Wilds was the first map to change from day to evening to night so that could possibly be the case for the Excitebike track or Animal Crossing track. Just a stretch.

seems like the start line seems to disappear in some shots, maybe the starting line piece changes after the start and reappears near the finish, just speculation and most likely wrong as what would happen if a piece of the track had to change with someone on it.

The youtube of NintendoNederland (which is the dutch Nintendo channel) had a different description than the one from Nintendo. It basically said the following: Discover Excitebike-Arena, that will be included in the first DLC-pack of Mario Kart 8. Appear at the start with a bike of choice to fully experience this level. Remember: The ramps en boostpanels change place every race! (Except for timetrails, of course!) kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZmaZ5VvaM14e7c I think this means that you can race on it with a car, but they recommend you use a bike.
