I can't believe it's already been a year since the booster course pass debuted. Anyways, I love wave 4. Not only are the tracks great, but we are getting characters as well (they should have done so for the whole pass, but better late than never, I guess). I can't wait to see what the other racers and tracks are. That wasn't what I expected to say back when wave 1 came out, that's for sure!

Hey! Just wanna let everyone know, I'm the friend Demeech's referring to! Considering how 8 Deluxe has sold over 52 million copies, more than twice what that garbage shovelware Pokemon game sold. Criticism and fan feedback does lead to developers listening and improving the game going forward. 8 Deluxe's experiencing a Kirby level redemption arc! It would be in Nintendo's best interest to listen to feedback, especially when said game makes up nearly half the console's install base. Nintendo could've just made the courses on the level of Wave 1, but they didn't, they listened to the criticism and in turn, we're getting better DLC. Wave 4's amazing, not as god tier as Wave 3, but this is such a damn good wave. Yoshi's Island is such a masterpiece, more than deserving of the jewel encrusted Yoshi Egg ranking. The level of fan service with these more uncommon enemies is nice, plus it just warms my heart seeing tracks from Double Dash and Wii not be butchered like Coconut Mall. I hope Pauline comes over, with a track inspired by Super Mario Odyssey. Come on, Nintendo, it's a golden opportunity! I hope Toadsworth is a playable character and Nintendo does something with him instead of leaving him in the void. I want Spike to show up, after all, Nintendo's not the only one who really likes him. As for my other picks, Diddy Kong and Kamek, it would be nice seeing him show up in a console game considering he was supposed to be playable in Mario Kart 64 but was sadly cut. It makes me wonder what else could they be planning? New Battle Mode courses? Couple new items? Thank you for bringing me up in the video, always a pleasure to help out with your videos! And yeah, this does fill the void for a new Mario Kart for the time being, just hope whatever they're cooking up for the successor will be a masterpiece and it's not some live service trash with next to no content. But I doubt it'll be Mario Kart 9, if Tour and Live are counted, then it'll be Mario Kart 11.

Yoshi's Island is also my favorite track! Not only does it bring Yoshi back to the spotlight for once, but it brings Yoshi's Island out of the 2D prison. It shows just how well another Yoshi game could work. *Please. Just give us Yoshi 3D.* Amsterdam Drift has another problem. It's overall pretty glitchy. I was in the underwater segment, and in the area that pushes you up to a boat, I was going straight, and then an invisible wall pushes me 90 degrees to the right. Aside from that, wave 4 was pretty solid.

@Demeech You want to know something I find strange yet curious about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's version of Bangkok Rush? If you take the upper path during Laps 1 and 3 of Bangkok Rush where the Sky Train Station is, if you look to your right (left in Mirror Mode), you can see cameos of 2 karts that either have yet to be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or may not be added into MK8DX at all. I'm talking about the Flame Flyer from Mario Kart Wii, and the Royale from Mario Kart DS. These 2 karts, along with the P-Wing, cameo'd in Bangkok Rush as part of advertistments for the "Mario Kart Motor Show"; and they are seen in huge posters located on the right side of the upper track where the Sky Train Station is (left side in mirror mode). With Flame Flyer and Royale having their cameos retained in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's version of Bangkok Rush, it makes me wish that additional vehicles could also get implemented in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I would love to see Wild Wing, from Mario Kart Wii & my Favorite Mario Kart vehicle overall (tied with P-Wing), useable in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Maybe you & others can touch upon such a topic in videos one day.

I absolutely hated wave one. There was only one course I even enjoyed (coconut mall) and everything else was really boring with really gross textures (yes even ninja hideaway) But then wave two came out. With FOUR amazing courses in it! And then wave three came out. Which also has FOUR amazing courses! And then wave four came out. With FIVE amazing courses and a whole new character! I think that the booster course pass is getting better and better with every wave!

I have 2 concerns regarding Mario Kart 9. The first one is crossovers, but i don't think that's gonna happen again. The world isn't ready for a Nintendo Crossover Kart Racing game, so i don't worry about that. But the second one is, just like you said, the "free update"/finish it later treatment. I just hope Mario Kart 9 doesn't end up like Battle League.

I have to imagine base game Mario Kart 8 had more development time than BCP. It’s clearly an altered/different team working on Tour and the BCP than for the base game as well. Given the quantity of tracks we are getting, I don’t even think this pass would be possible without importing content from Tour. And it’s not exactly a scummy money grab m, given that, to me at least, there is a clear effort to improve the quality of each wave.

I love how every wave gave us new features despite saying it was only supposed to be retro tracks. Wave 2 gave us a track that wasn’t in any game at the time. Wave 3 they snuck in item customization completely unannounced. Wave 4 introduced new characters and balance changes. I’m almost half expecting them to add DS Mission Mode by wave 6 at this point.

I admit that navigating Amsterdam Drift gets annoying, especially at 200cc. That chicane at the end of lap 3 messes with me too much. The rest of the tracks are great, however. Of course Yoshi's Island hits the nostalgia, and while I'm neutral about Birdo, it's cool to know additional characters are a thing now. I'd love to see Pauline and Funky, as well as Kamek finally getting his chance in a console game. I do have a little bias for Bangkok Rush because it's inspired by the same city from a track in a favourite arcade racer of mine.

Finally someone else who agrees with me that the first Yoshi's Island counts as a 2D Mario game! And a gosh darn fantastic one at that!! If you actually look at the game in comparison to the previous 2D Mario games, it takes and builds upon so many things from literally ALL of them, and even brings a lot of stuff that ended up sticking around in successive Mario games, both 2D and 3D, which isn't true of any of the later Yoshi games which are much more clearly their own separate thing. Side tangent, I know, but just wanted to comment on that.

I really wish they'd add arcade tracks like Sky Arena and Banana Labyrinth. I'm probably gonna look stupid by saying this, but Bandai Namco developing the arcade games isn't a valid reason for Nintendo to ignore them. Intelligent Systems made Mario Kart: Super Circuit. "But the arcade games aren't on a Nintendo console." Shut up. Mario made his debut in an arcade game, and they reference the original Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. games all the time. So what's the Arcade GP series' excuse? If there's a genuine issue I'm not understanding, please let me know.

Well I can mostly describe my feel toward wave 4 it have more higher hypes for me than wave 3 but also lower points, I admit singapore speedway is defenitley my favorite just from those sweet sweet fountain waters but yeah I give credit for yoshi's island and is incredible cel shading look which give it a special look of a story book like a 3D rencarnation of yoshi's island artstyle unlike the kinda fake look new island had but overall I sure looking for this wave and as for birdo I don't care too much for the character but I still ask myself why she wasn't originally and hey new characters sure gonna be great ^^

Wave 4 is the best so far in terms of consistency. Yoshi's Island is such an amazing homage to the SNES Classic. Also, Waluigi Stadium looks gorgeous. Double Dash fans are eating good.

Overall the DLC was pretty good I really like Yoshi's Island and the other tracks are mostly good and Birdo is playable. As for new characters while it would be unlikely I would like to see Smallfry since we have Splatoon presentation. Pauline and Kamek would be great too considering Kamek's role in Yoshi's Island.

Dude please, DS Mario Cricuit is awesome! Not only does it have a great lay-out and super fun visuals (and worlds cutest wiggler) but it has SO MANY SHORTCUTS! If they add Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline, Petey Piranha and King Bob-omb as the last 5 characters, then this would definitely be way better than Mario Kart 9 by a long shot, but even without them I still think this is better than Mario Kart 9 since they would probably cut a lot of stuff from this game in Mario Kart 9 and make it into Battle League 2.0.

Definitely glad they ended up improving the quality of this DLC as it went. I still feel a bit salty at not getting MK9, but I truly think that feeling wouldn't have gotten so bitter for folks if they announced this DLC ages ago. I love MK8, but it is gonna be so ollld by the time we do get MK9 lol. Safe to say they're probably sitting on it now for the next system. Also think Nintendo really decided to commit to MK8D especially because of the Mario movie. At this point, Mario Kart as a brand is getting to be the true face of Nintendo over plain ol Mario. Which... might be why mainline Mario is MIA too sadly... lol.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you bud. In my opinion, DS Mario circuit is the best course of wave 4. Sometimes you just have to have the good ole circuit treatment. Drifting around the corners and dodging the giant wiggler are simply super fun touches go the track also. This track coming to the game made this one the best circuit with snes Mario circuit 3 being a solid second place. Yoshis island is super quality and as a fan of that game, I respect the course and what's going on. Yoshi's island is a very strong second place (its not as fun as DS Mario circuit but it's still amazing!) Third place is Waluigi stadium. I can't get over drifting around tight corners in mud with some excavators of course. Just a cool track all around! Fourth is Bangkok rush. This is a tour track done right. Solid fun with enough unique gimmicks to keep it distinct from the other tour tracks. It also is a really fun way to open a cup so bonus points there. Definitely fourth place.

This is just my opinion but I can’t say I hate Wave 1 of the pass. I like Wave 1 but it’s probably the weakest of the waves. You know the old sayings, things aren’t always perfect for the first of something. Overtime, things were improving during later waves with some really great tracks. I bet waves 5 and 6 would be the peak of this pass.
