i stopped playing MKT when i realized that it made me a worse player on MK8D just because i forgot that you can't get automatically item boxes each time you pass near them, and i forgot how to drift, and its pretty unfair for a f2p player (and this comes from a Fire Emblem Heroes player). Not a "bad" Mario Kart, but not something for me. Hopefully they use some of the ideas here for a future mario kart

I really enjoyed the game, but just like Zelda Breath of the wild, it's filled with flaws. One of them I loathe the most is the Bullcrap AI (especially on 150cc!) It's like this game is trying to prevent you from getting a high score... I hate that.

I'll never forget those times whenever a new character gets added and fans ask "WHY IS THIS NOT IN MK8DX!?!!? REEEEEEEE" ... And I was one of them. Except without the REEEEEEEEing part and the all caps. If Mario Kart 9 was like a grand tour across not just the Mushroom Kingdom worlds but worlds themed around real life places, I would love to see some of these courses return. And if the roster is even remotely diverse like Tour, sign me in, man! Mario Kart Tour IS indeed... A monkey's paw. Everything fans wanted... But in the worse possible way.

After taking a break from the game and returning to it later, I came to find a new appreciation for getting duplicates, as they increase the max starting score cap for each character, kart, and glider, making it easier to get more stars. Not only that, but I’m pretty sure they unlock new abilities as well if you get enough. I am a bit disappointed that I haven’t gotten Holiday Cheer Daisy yet, but I’m sure it will happen in due time, especially considering I’ve gotten all the characters I have without spending any money on the micro transactions or the gold pass.

Mario Kart Tour is so conflicting as a game to me. A lot of its ideas and concepts give it potential to be the Ultimate Mario Kart game... but is clearly held back by everything you covered. It's exactly why I want MK9 so bad. Because if we could get a console non-gacha Mario Kart game that builds off Tour's great ideas, it would be one of the best Mario Karts ever. And would give Smash Ultimate a run for its money in sheer scope.

Guess what, I've been playing mario kart tour for around 2 years, and I've got a ton of characters/karts/gliders. I'm also at tier 57, level 119, and multiplayer grade s+6. The best part about all that, is that I have only spent around $15 on the gold pass (to get to s+6), and all the money I spent on the game, was actually just gift card money. It is entirely possible to get a lot of stuff without paying anything. Take spartacurt for example. They are f2p only, and they are one of the best mario kart tour players. All this shows, is that you really don't need to spend a lot of money to get good at mario kart tour.

I've been playing MK Tour since it launched. I play pretty much every day even if its just 1 race. I don't find the microtransactions to be that bad. I've played MKT for free for most of my time with it, I've only paid for a couple months of gold, but for the most part you can still earn a bunch of rubies and coins, you just have to grind for them. You have to complete all of the challenges and unlock all the rewards with the gold stars and play every day for the daily reward. You'll start to rack up coins and rubies pretty quickly. The Gold pass is the best deal over buying straight rubies from the shop. Those are ridiculously over priced, the gold pass pretty much doubles the rewards you get from the free mode so it helps you accumulate coins and rubies faster. Hoard a bunch of coins and rubies for the pipes and the shop and level up your characters with tickets, win the weekly challenges and you're likely to get at least 1 new character each tour. It takes some work and consistency though.

I enjoyed watching this video, however, it doesn't even address the issue we are currently having that we are getting a level 7 update next tour. This is basically Mario Kart Tours way of making the whales richer/ better, while leaving the F2P players far behind. The main issue comes from the daily selects shop, which is on a 24 hour a day rotation. The more of the stuff you have maxed out, the more likely you are to get a ticket to increase any item of that rarity and d/k/g. So naturally everyone freaks out when they see a high end driver ticket in their shop. Now imagine level 7. The daily selects are no longer maxed, and you have to basically start all over again, with leveling up all your commons and supers, just to guarantee the chance that you'll find a ticket to level up the item you want!

I think my main problem with Mario Kart Tour is just the awful mobile game monetization. Then again, is that really Tour's fault when stuff like that is normalized and seemingly accepted in the mobile market? My other problem, and this is just down to jealousy, is why does Tour get so many amazing characters (Birdo, Funky Kong, Pauline, ect), but not the main console game? I'm sure people would be happy to pay for DLC that adds new characters.

This game should have been like SKY where the micro-transactions aren’t the main point to progress, it’s purely for the cosmetics: capes, hats, outfits and so on. Yet they don’t shove it down your face, you can check the shoppping section when you want, not when the creators want. Here, MKT felt like Crash on the Run, the latter either oblige you to spend your money on cosmetics, crystals, ingredients and weapons to progress, Super Mario Run did that, paying to get the 6 levels in their full versions.

I was in the beta and since then haven't stopped playing XD. Also, a good score doesn't require a 3 slot character, just something decent in 2 slot (or a character with coin box) which can get you 13k upwards pretty easily. Side note, I haven't payed anything on this game, it's just about playing enough (you get rubies from your rank too, so once you're up in the ranks theres no point to buying rubies anyways.)

really love the fact that special items returned, I so want them in the next mainline MK game, plus all the classic karts n tracks they added in. But, just with tour I can't get as much joy as I do with the others, with the controls that we have to use (Which I find really annoying at times) and the fact there is an auto-steer feature in the game which really puts me off (that is even if u turn all the assists off), I know why it is there n it needs to be, but it aint no mario kart without you falling off rainbow road 600 times haha.

I believe you forgot to mention a few other characters that are currently missing from Mario Kart Tour; What's also missing is Orange Yoshi, Yellow Yoshi, Light Blue Yoshi, Blue Yoshi, Pink Yoshi, White Yoshi, Orange Shy Guy, Yellow Shy Guy, Green Shy Guy, Light Blue Shy Guy, Blue Shy Guy, Pink Shy Guy, White Shy Guy, Link, Champion Link, Isabelle, Male Villager, Female Villager, Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and regular Donkey Kong Jr. I consider SNES Donkey Kong Jr. in this game as a clone character (albeit a clone of someone who isn't truly in the game yet) since SNES Mario is also in the game alongside regular Mario. *This game is banned in my country and I have never considered changing my phone to get to play it.* The focus of this game is more on loot boxes than on Mario Kart itself and that's why I think a lot of people hate the game so much. And some things of the racing also sucks like the lack of tracks and the pay-to-win feature with ranked matches. Like why invest money into a game when the server can go down in a couple of years when there is a new Mario Kart game and what you get is completely luck based and most of the times sucks? I even haven't played this game and I know already how bad it is.. That says a lot about the game!

When I first saw the trailer of Mario Kart Tour, since I'm not a fan of mobile games, I thought "I'd still end up playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe over Mario Kart Tour" and when I got Mario Kart Tour, boy was I right, I ended up playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a lot more than Mario Kart Tour. Come to think of it, I don't think I play Mario Kart Tour at all after a few tries, I knew right away that even I, as a fan of the Mario Kart series and a veteran Mario Kart gamer, didn't like it mostly because either the controls are bad or I didn't know how to control the game and I didn't like how characters, karts and parts are unlocked, seems to me like you have to do some gambling to unlock the characters, karts, parts or other items. In short, I don't like the controls and the characters, karts, parts and other items are hard to unlock, it's a waste of time and money and confusing. So, when the Booster Course Pass came, I didn't feel like I missed much what Mario Kart Tour had. It's not perfect, although I think it's more perfect than Mario Kart Tour, but even I would rather play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Booster Course Pass) than spend anymore time playing Mario Kart Tour. For me, Mario Kart Tour is not worth my time and money.

Agreed while it may not be the best in terms of accessibility and the fact that you can't get your favorite driver right away, all if not some updates do keep things interesting as most may know we almost got a heart system that will not do anyone favors but turns out in the official release it's not the case here... I'll take limited coins and Exp. over ❤ any day.

@@Demeech just got done watching and loved every minute of it but before I put in my opinions let's look at the hallmarks as with any MK Game let see *The 1st Mario Kart Game for Mobile (Unfortunately) *The 1st Mario Kart to utilize a high score, combo and level system *And the 1st Mario Kart that not only let you use nore than 2 items but let you use rare that's been long overdue since double-dash as for opinion while I understand why most hate it for obvious reasons I'm happy it's getting better (at least in my eyes) I heard the next tour could be with based on China or the Chi Kingdom from the SML series

Looking at Mario Kart Tour now, I'd say "ehh". I'm always up for multiplayer, but other than that, it just sits there. This does give me high hopes for Mario Kart: Ultimate.
