Episode 50
Super Mario Brothers is an amazing game that needs no introduction. The game that came with most early NES consoles, this was the killer app that sold the system.
But why was this seemingly simple game such a landmark title? On today's very special 50th Episode of U Can Beat Video Games, we'll find out, and then we'll dive deep into the gameplay where we'll learn:
* The strategy for beating ALL 32 levels!
* How to turn into SMALL FIRE MARIO!
* The location of EVERY HIDDEN 1-UP!
* The secret of the MINUS WORLD, the never ending ocean!
* The even weirder Minus World on the Famicom Disc System, with a new way to beat the game!
* How to JUMP OVER THE FLAGPOLE - In World 3-3 AND 1-1!
* Secret tricks to gain TONS of EXTRA LIVES!
* Where to find EVERY WARP ZONE! (And how to win without warping, too)
* How to collect EVERY COIN, and find EVERY PRIZE!
* The path to easily get through the CASTLE MAZES!
* Get 5000 points on EVERY Flagpole!
* Data for EVERY ENEMY from Bloopers to Spinys!
* Defeat every Bowser imposter with fireballs, and reveal their identity!
Thanks for watching!

Coincidentally, in the NTSB-U and PAL versions of Super Mario World, there is an enemy that, in the NTSB-J version of the game, is simply called a Torpedo, but, in those other versions of the game, it is called a Torpedo Ted.

I actually like how he takes it a little easy and doesn't act like he's a speed runner. Even though I know none of the tricks of today's speed runners I always prided myself on speed run in this game without dying pretty much when I had my own personal bests. I like that he's taking it slow and explaining everything

I remember being the only kid on the block who could complete the game and older kids used to invite me over to play it for them so they could watch how it's done. I knew the warp zone secrets and all and I would use them unless I wanted to play and win level for level and sort of challenge myself so to say. With all that said I still never knew that the Minus World existed. It's amazing how after playing the game countless times and watching videos of people playing it later, I still learned something new about the game. Goes to show you that when you say "all that and more" you're not just saying it for fun. I also learned that you can jump over the flags, I had never done that before playing it. I used to think having beaten the game and knowing about the warp zones was all that was to it and 20 years later you taught me a lesson! Love watching the videos and all the games, along with all the information you tell us about them!

What I love about these video guides, as well as them being extremely exhaustive, is the tone and style giving me vibes of late 80s early 90s video game tips videos on VHS. I don't know what it is, but there's something about the way they'd illustrate key moments in a game, explain how to interact with them, and talk about giving you all the tips and tricks to beat the toughest games and get the high scores. It's oddly nostalgic in a way and the constant tone and cadence makes it very easy listening. Thanks for everything you do!

Congrats on beating 50 video games and demonstrating how! World 7-1 and 8-1 always kicked my rear as a kid, and I only beat them later as a teenager. Thanks again for showing this off.
