Cooking during Covid Lockdown in New Zealand!: I got home from work and my mum said: "You're cooking!" She had already gone to get all the ingredients required from the supermarket and had them laid out on the kitchen bench for me. It didn't take too long to complete and once it was done my isolated parents were utterly satisfied with the dish! Thankyou Marion! It was a pleasure to cook this, especially during Covid lockdown 😊

Is there a yogurt you cook with or is this any regular yogurt like the kind you eat like snacks
@CurriesWithBumbi4 жыл бұрын
Hung Nguyen I can tell you from my Indian point of view of cooking. There is not a specific kind of yogurt for cooking but we use the regular PLAIN UNFLAVOURED yogurt ( not vanilla flavoured or any kind of added flavorings). It can be low fat or whole and it can be Greek style too. Hope this helps🙏🏽

I made this recipe, in the end it tasted amazing, but: I added a lot more salt, water and cooked more than 25 min after adding the meat to the rice. After 25 min the meat was raw the rice was hard following the 2 cup rice/2,5 cup stock ratio. In a 28 cm pan i could barely fit this amount of food. I dont know what happened, Marion's recipes are always spot on, but this was not. Still thank You. The mint sauce is a great match and the crispy thing on the bottom is heavenly.

Khao Mok Gai is Thai style Chicken Biryani, although come from Southern Thailand that majority of them are Muslim community. In Indonesia, it's not usual for using yoghurt in this dish, because it's expensive. We sometimes substitute the yoghurt with coconut milk to give the richness of this dish........
@guitarfreekin5 жыл бұрын
You can take a can of milk and squeeze a lemon into the milk and let it rest for about 4 hours and you have a can full of yoghurt for your use and not too expensive

I usually use my favorite salsa and add the extra vegetables that i like to the left over rice. Add the Peri-Peri(Nando's) sauce to give that extra kick and mixed shredded chicken pieces before finishing it. Air Fried the marinated chicken with spicy seasoning and maybe sour cream or Tsaziki sauce to balance the flavour. Consistent and fast results.
