Those little books are adorable and such lovely pieces of art, Marion. Just found that older video from you and enjoyed it very much. Have some days at hospital on intense care behind me and will now recover at home a while, but let's see things positive: time for creativity, yay. I will enjoy and make the best out of everything. Your videos make my me-time moments always just the better. I enjoy all of your contents so much. Your previous video of the yarn market where you interviewed some of the people was just making me smile when I was still in hospital. Those yarns were so lovely and I was happy for you when you found some little treasures for your own joy. Time for a slowly dog walk, let's see how far I make it today and how often I have to sit down. Slowly rebuilding my strength, but slowly means: more time to appreciate the wonders of lat summer and slowly showing early autumn.

I have a box of 12 Intense pencils which is a bit limiting, and every time I see your blocks I tell myself I really need some blocks lol. You really make everything you do appear simple Marion, and it's hugely encouraging for those of us not so gifted! Thank you
@kimtownsend838 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I have the 12 inktense pencils too. Please don't feel like you need to buy everything you see on KZbin to follow along with a tutorial. I have been down that rabbit hole for years, buying all the wonderful products and tools. People I follow have used, and unfortunately, a lot of the things have been sent to them for free. To promote their products. I'm not talking about Marion here, I love that she uses what she has. So, onto the pencils, they are not as limiting as you may think. You can paint from the tip with a water brush, or paintbrush also mix the colours whilst they are wet use a piece of plastic or a plate to make more colours too. I have really enjoyed experimenting with mine. I saw the blocks and thought ooh I need them too. But wait to see what you can achieve before splashing out again. I have made some lovely pastel backgrounds too, which I'm now slow stitching onto. Hope this helps and you are not offended. By all means, get them if you are going to get the use out of them. Happy crafting, Kim 😊🌈

@@kimtownsend838 Ah I'm afraid you're too late Kim, the blocks will be arriving Monday 🤣I have a gift voucher so treated myself. Yes, sounds like I've done the same experiments as you with pencils, painted from the tip for small things, and also mixed on a palette, but found that a bit fiddly. Certainly not offended, we're all here to share experiences and learn from one another! 🤗

I definitely agree with what you say here Kim. I've never been able to buy all the things I would have liked to. So I've always tried to find my way around and use what I had. I've used watered down acrylic paint on fabric for years and not had any problem with it. But I am totally over the moon with the Inktense. However I am using them a lot, because I craft and sew a lot. And I use the pencils too. One last thing to say is that I know you can buy individual blocks. Which might be a way of trying a couple out to see if they were as useful as you thought before committing to a box full. My take on all this is just to experiment... see what happens... there's always something else you can use...

I must have done quite a few laps of the halls but I still missed it!!! Marion I have a tip that I found to use when ironing down your bonda web onto the back of your fabric pieces. Use parchment paper under your pieces to iron and they won’t stick to whatever you’re fusing to the back. I love using parchment paper to also lay over an item to iron so the bonda web doesn’t stick to your iron. And it is reusable. I also use it when I starch a piece of fabric, I lay a piece of parchment paper over it then iron and it keeps the starch from turning your iron brown. Hope that all makes sense and helpful to you. ❤️ You can find in the grocery store or big box stores it is cheaper.

@marionsworld24 Жыл бұрын
Yes it's really good for the book pages. Unlike an appliqued quilt which gets a lot of washing and creasing etc. the book pages just stay flat. So the ironed on pieces stay there beautifully. I do add extra to the back if there's a lot of stitching though. Or else there wouldn't be enough of it to bond the fabrics together.
