The part of I love about this is that you truly do not do anything someone who's just starting out can't do, especially after a half hour in the character tutorial and mashing in training. It reminds me a lot of WinterStarcraft's low APM challenge for Starcraft 2, where he shows that pressing buttons fast is wholly irrelevant without a good game plan, and that winning is about knowing your tools, while being able to execute complex movements comes last. Every newbie should see this to let them know that they don't need a hundred hours in the game to start winning.

Yeah that was definitely the goal so people can hop in with no prior knowledge and start getting some wins. Training modes important but real turn off day 1 when you just want to fight.

Don't know if you still are looking at this video but you are a godsend. I'm just getting back into sf6 and chose Marisa. This is amazing for me as most guide videos i see are just too complicated for my skill level. I love the natural progression this shows.

Thanks a lot! I got Gold 3 with Marisa in placement matches but I was playing without a game plan, basically fumbling my way through using specials like there's no tomorrow. So I'm a modern platinum 5 Marisa and I've been running into issues trying to reach Diamond. Honestly my defensive gameplan more than offensive. Getting stuck in Ken or Cammy's low loop combo is the worst. This video is definitely helpful as far as understanding the frame data and what moves are safe to pull off.

I was curious on your thoughts about using charged FWD HK for wakeup pressure following the LP QCB special. I notice everybody uses the DR pressure for wakeup but I have had some early success with the charged FWD HK. Is this option just suboptimal or is it actually bad at higher levels of play?? Anyways appreciate the content and I wish you luck with it.

To plat should be out soon just dusting off the rest of the gameplan. Regarding FWD HK that is indeed useful and worth throwing in from time to time. Obviously its meterless however is a bit easier for an opponent to react with a reversal due to the long charge time. Its ok you can just mix between Charged back heavy, Cr lk and Command Grab. What Modern Marisa loses in terms of specials/normals she makes up for in raw speed of reaction with Gladius. A lot of us consider Modern Marisa the superior character just a bit different.

i'm having a hard time landing down medium punch followed immediately by gladius. . .it's like 50%. . .sometimes i can get the gladius right after, and other times it's off. It feels like im inputting everything the same, but sometimes when i check inputs the inputs are off by a button or two. anyone have any suggestions to imrpvoe this? so i try down + mediium punch, then quarter circle forward + light punch. when gladius isn't coming out, SF6 input says i've hit the light punch button twice, even though i've only hit it once lol. don't know if this is a bug or what but it's annoying AF

You are likely just not cancelling quick enough. You can try putting negative edge on in the options also as that will give you an input when pressing the button aswell as releasing it. Sometimes that helps get the input you want.
