Would like to see Rippetoe on the podcast in the future and have him go over his novice linear progression and why is his recommended squat form is often criticized
@theoreticalfitness77014 жыл бұрын
Well...You have famous instagram influencers (not mentioning his name), with doctorates, claiming (while virtually rotating the floor angle to the body) on a quarter squat, is 90 degrees and that this 90 degree angle squat will stave off all forms of injury while also providing the best stimulus for strength, power, and muscle growth. "Now buy my $350 dollar book!" A book that says all that Stan, Louie, Mark B, Rip, Meadows, and Tate teach is completely wrong.

Thank you for this! I sprang my knee mid February, about 3 weeks into my new years resolution 😂. I'm finally at a point I can squat and went over for the squat cues on juji, no pain in my knees even though my sprang knee is still tender. I was squatting wide for the past 3 years and always dealing with aches and inflammation from an old injury in my left knee.

One friend is allergic to red meat. She is now eating all the things that do not give her allergies. Her skin is amazing, she lost weight easily and no bloat. I'm a natural vegetarian. I don't and never did like the taste of any animal. I don't eat fish, chicken, meat, shell fish etc. I love cheese butter and eggs but only egg whites. I wish I liked meat and egg yolk. Im happy to eat mostly vegan (vegan protein, no whey) and do not feel like I'm hungry or low energy. I'm often viewed as energetic and I have good fitness ( I was an aerial acrobat for 13 years) but I feel I cud be even better with meat (good grass fed meat). My sleep isn't best and I tend to get injured if not careful because of how naturally flexible I am (lifting in gym helps so much). I'm thinking I need to do 30 days if meat daily to just try and get over myself but I start to get nervous and I chicken out. My dad was a huge meat eater including liver, tripe, beef tongue etc. He tried feeding me every single thing including sashimi (raw fish. I am from hawaii). And the fish here is better according to visitors. I think my friend is just fine now that she isn't doing red meat (yes she's sad). But guessing I shud try and force feed myself??? For that 30 days as I mentioned... What wud u do short of tying me to the dinner table

For the normal, athletic person who does not do high level competition but wants to hit a happy medium between health and fitness, what do WE do? I'm quite a bit older than the guys that I work out with (65) and I'm still fitter than most of them but it's gotten nearly impossible to add mass and I'm just getting close to the squat and deadlifts of my 30's. What are balanced goals for the senior athlete?
@aleksc43764 жыл бұрын
You're getting close to squat and deadlifts of 30 years ago you're doing great, and you're an inspiration. Testosterone replacement therapy might be safe and a good way to go if you got a good doctor that won't prescribe too much or too little.
