Mark Burgess of The Chameleons Interview (10/9/22)

Mark Burgess is front man, singer, songwriter, bassist and acoustic guitarist for The Chameleons from 1981 to current day. The Chameleons are arguably one of the most important and influential bands of the last 40 years. Through 4 albums and a couple of side projects Mark has survived. And still active, The Chameleons have just embarked upon a fall US tour.

Thankyou for this. i loved them since 1986 & was astonished when first having access to the internet in 2008 to discover they’d reunited & toured 8 years previously. i hope to finally see them in Bristol in August. (You weren’t the only one to suffer psychosis or paranoia having smoked hash & or grass from the 1980s ! always felt well chilled the following day but for me the stuffs’ initial hit was two-head city & often hideous…)😁👍🐢

Interesting fact, Dave Fielding pretty much founded The Chameleons, Mark was asked to join. But Dave and Reginald Smithies were co - founders. ~ C 07 - 24

Agree..first heard In Shreds at Cloud 9 club early 85 Manchester...a different world...invent a time machine.

Cloud 9 was the first club I ever went to, probably about the same time, and In Sheds was definitely played, as at the Ritz on a Monday ,Berlin, The Venue and Cella vie. Great band great times
