mark fowler was just an older Tucker Jenkins, wise cracking, self righteous leather jacket wearing motorbike fanatic. He played the same character from 1978 through to him being killed off in Eastenders.

He left in 2003 and died in 2004. Was played by David Scarboro (1985-1988) but the actor killed himself and Mark was written out of the series. Todd Carty took over as Mark in 1990 and stayed there for 13 years.

But I find it quite wierd that I who live in Egland don't watch any English soaps and you seem quite up to date with them all. Though, I do like Home and Away and Neighbours.

The beales kind of count as fowlers, but no sonia doesn't count as when she came back briefly in 2011 she said her and martin split up, so she counts as a jackson, still, i can't see any of them returning

I never expected Mark to die until early 2003 when he visited his clinic. EastEnders is now rather different without the Fowlers. Bearing in mind, there are very few Fowlers still alive (as far as I know), but are no longer residing in the Square; Michelle & Vicki in Florida and Martin somewhere in the North I think. Does Sonia count?

@stupidintellect90 The three soaps I mentioned are very close to Canadians Hearts especially Corrie. This is because many of the Older Folks who watch the show have ties to England whose ancestors immigrated to Canada from England. In fact, when Corrie isn't on the air, the fans call the TV Stations demanding to know why. Also, in the US, the viewing public for Soaps most notably Women have dwindled. They work, and they like Talks Shows and Reality Shows that's why the ratings went down.

@stupidintellect90 Yeah but The Brits are so lucky because "You're Soaps" or many of them are still on the Air. Coronation St., Eastenders, Emmerdale that are shown on Canadian TV although we are still a couple of years behind. Corrie One Year. Sadly enough, these past three years Two Long Running Soaps got cancelled. Guiding Light (Debuting on Radio in 1937, and going to TV in 1952) and got cancelled in 2009. As The World Turns 1956-2010.

I admit it's better then 'days of our lives' and 'the young and the restless' if that's what you're talking about but Eastenders isn't the best thing on British tele. It's unrealistic, there's like 2 deaths each year, just Albert Square that is, very tedious-wanting-to-be-dramatic storylines and pretty bad acting from most of its actors.
