Most of the great actions moves of the great 80's and 90's have at their centre a homoerotic love story. Keanu Reeves is so in love with Pat Swayze that he literally jumps out of plane with no parachute to be with him. There is a lot of hyper masculine and hetro normative behaviour (football, surfing, robbing banks) to mask the love story between the two men. But it ends with Keanu handcuffing himself to Pat Swayze who pleads to let him go to ride the big one. "If you love something let it go" and Keanu obliges..... heartbreaking

Ya, kermode is the worst critic
