So much good sensible advice in this lecture. Thank you Mark. Have become a big fan of your unorthodox approach not to mention your outstanding photos.

At last someone calling that Mountain by its name "Stob Dearg" thanks for that Mark and for showing your heartfelt work.

I'm eighty now and have been keen on Photography since I was twelve. Mark has proved here that I'm still learning. A really great talk and video. Need to work harder don't I ?

Hello Mark and David, I only stumbled upon this video today which I enjoyed immensely. I am also from the beautiful City of Edinburgh and remember very well when Mark won the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year and gave a talk in the City of Belfast and I just had to make the long drive down to meet him - And I was not disappointed. I was so, so, proud of him. Regards, Allan Davies...

I think there was a slightly having-your-cake-and-eating-it vibe here with all the talk of simplicity, no tripods, no cropping, it's all about the landscape, forget about the equipment etc combined with serious colour manipulation in darkroom, stitching, opening in photoshop to make the forests look mistier, and in general (in my opinion) not so much photographing what was there as using it as the basis for a Tolkeinian re-imagination of what was there. The images are very enjoyable and the talk interesting regardless.

"[I] can process this image in maybe five or six minutes . . . ." The "Landscape Photographer og the Year" should've been awarded to Adobe.

Some of it I find beautiful, others I find look like calendar landscapes with hdr. I think I just like film better.

More editing than photography skills ... not impressed with all due respect!
