Learning and Working with my feet has been a game changer for my whole body. I do the "hand-glove" technique everyday and my feet are so much better.

I have four pairs of Shamma Sandals -- and yes, like Josh said, they are treated like arrows in my quiver (or clubs in my golf bag, if you wanna use that metaphor) : - One pair of Warriors for day-to-day - One pair of Warriors for road running - One pair of Warriors Maximus for trail running on trails I know aren't too technical - One pair of Mountain Goats for running trails I've never run or that I know are very technical And while that sounds like a lot of sandals and money, keep in mind that Shammas last SO long. My road warriors have over 300 miles on them and the tread is just barely worn. If anything, they just get better because they conform to your feet. Beware that once you get use to running in sandals, it can be tricky to run in anything else. I got some other minimalist trail shoes to try out in exchange for a review and I tripped twice in one run on them. I've NEVER tripped on trails in sandals -- not even the most technical trails. Why? Probably a combo of feeling where my foot is better and because I'm too scared to be that careless. But the good news is that I don't want to run in shoes anymore. And yes, all of my running PBs/PRs have been in Shamma Warriors. Just get some. But if you're new to barefootin' or minimalist running, take it easy. Maybe start by replacing 10% of your runs or workouts barefoot or in minimalist footwear. Then increase the minimalist time by 10% per week, if that. Otherwise, you can wind up with calf, Achilles, and metatarsal issues because your feet are probably very weak from traditional footwear.

Right after picking up my first pair of running sandals my biggest mistake was, too much, too too soon, too fast. My calves were destroyed. One has to take it easy.

I start running in Altra Soltice and it is a game changer. I feel even faster when sprinting. My feet don’t hurt any more nor my calves other than sornes. My goal is start running with vivos but Altra is great.

I love my minimalist running shoes/sandals and have worn them for years. As an ultra runner though I don't feel they are the silver bullet they are made to be sometimes. They are another tool in the toolbox. I use them to keep my foot and lower leg strength, plantar fascia healthy, and contribute to the skins microbiome by getting healthy dirt bacteria absorbed to the skin(often a benefit not discussed) but there is a tipping point for weekly mileage that starts to warrant other tools in the toolbox to be used. From the knee down sees more stress with minimal footwear as you increase cushion that force starts to move up the kinetic chain above knees, into hips etc. Personally I've learned over many years of running that its not so much the cushion or lack thereof but more so the shape of the shoe to allow for proper big toe mechanics and position. By switching up shoes between different cushions, heel drops etc. It allows one area to take less stress while you strengthen the other and constantly move the force around so that one area isn't being over stressed. similar to why trail verse road has less overall stress on the body due to varied foot strikes and slope angles. No one is biomechanically the same so again this can be beneficial for some but problematic for others.

Great episode! Made the transition to vivo’s back in June and I ran my 1st mile in some minimal sandals today. Felt strong and I’ve been working on my form. Last time I ran was in February and I had custom orthotics and fancy shoes. I still felt horrible but now it’s a completely different story! Thank you guys 👉👈

I’ve been wearing shammas for a few years. I run in them, skip rope, sprint, run hills, longboard and lift weights in them. I have thick legs and developed the big legged waddle duck walk over the years. Shammas automatically fix that, just started walking toes forward, narrower stance and more efficiently. Warriors le best for deadlift, the leather doesn’t get as sweaty in the gym environment. I run in my uLtragrip warrior Maximus, the movement keeps the air flowing. Mountain goat le for hiking, squats, jump rope, and long board. Super old goats are super comfortable.

Once I started running completely barefoot, I soon had to switch all my shoes to some form of flat. I pretty much just wear moccasins now, for everything but lifting and running, which I do completely barefoot. Have some nice ones for my suits.

Hey guys, props for the interesting and informative #barefoot content you're pushing out lately, along with the great guests. I'd really love to see you host @grownandhealthy sometime in the future, he's been a great advocate for barefoot movement for a while now, with some of the most helpful guides IMO, it'd be awesome to hear you all putting your "feet down" in a 3h pod'. Keep up the great work 🦵💪✌️

You should try them out. Owning a pair of chargers and warrior maximus leather version. I have been transitioning into barefoot since may this year. It takes a learning curve, but I whole heartedly recommend it. Changing for the better one step at a time with Power!

Josh misses the socialization component to going to school. I believe it's a very important part of growing up. When you homeschool kids they end up being socially awkward.
