Something about the 1st story seems like a set up. The girls getting her very drunk and Richard taking advantage. I suspect the girlfriend told Richard she planned on getting her drunk and Richard formed a plan to… yeah. I wouldn’t talk to any of those friends anymore and make it clear to them that they assisted in the crime.

I'd go a step further and say that that was the goal of getting her that drunk in the first place. Her "friends" probably don't like OP and gaslit her into thinking she cheated to try to ruin the relationship. Fortunately, OP realized what really happened with Richard.

@@okyep I completely get this but she was blackout drunk. People don't act themselves in a state like that and she couldn't even walk by herself. I wouldn't blame op for leaving her but she was definitely assualted. I wouldn't call being SA'd cheating but to each their own. I remember a story just like this but it was a man who was assualted by his best friend's girlfriend.

@@okyepWhile I haven’t been blackout drunk, I’ve been around friends & family who have been. When they tell you they remember nothing, they genuinely mean NOTHING. I once had to drag my, at the time, stepdad away from a 4th of July party cause he started getting really rowdy. His family followed him inside where they kept drinking, I went back inside after some time and my stepfather was barely moving & when he did it was like his bones were jelly. When I asked if he was alright he slurred so much that I couldn’t even tell you what he said. I had to grab my uncles (Mom’s side) so they could drag him to bed. The next day he was still noticeably hazy, still slurring a bit, a little laggy due to the hangover, and when he eventually got up and walked around the house he was unbalanced. He remembered absolutely nothing about the party and when he was shown videos of what happened he was floored & confused. Having seen all that with my stepdad who is 6’5, 300 lbs on a good day, and a alcoholic (meaning his alcoholic tolerance was ridiculously high), I can only imagine what state OP’s gf was in mentally given his description.

@@dream6562 They were not both drunk though? At no point in the story was it said Richard drank at all just "scolded" the friends for continuing to dare her to drink more then made an excuse to separate her from the friends to take advantage of her. Regardless of whether she chose to drink it didn't give him the right to take advantage of her and it astounds me how people can make bad-faith arguments and false equivalencies like this to try and justify what happened. But let's pretend like you have a semblance of a point here and concede to the fact that the chose to drink regardless of pressure from her friends, I'll walk with you to that pier...still not an excuse for what he did. The only info we had from the initial post was “gf was really really drunk, to the point of not remembering things and tearfully confessed to having sex with someone as soon as she was sober the next morning.” That screams assault to me, and all those comments are “she’s vile and doesn’t love you”.

But for some people, that can be as bad or worse than the act itself. Being retraumatized, only for the court to side with your abuser/attacker, as happens in a gutwrenchingly high percentage of the time, can be life ending. As someone with DID (diagnosed and in treatment), the girlfriend claiming DID to act as her boyfriend's niece was disturbing. Although introject alters can exist (alters that have beliefs or behaviors of, or even believe they are, another person) they usually are formed in childhood when the abuse was going on. I have younger alters that love people and want to come out at parties. BUT, because the majority of DID cases are covert (meaning they do not present obviously) most people would never know those parts are out. Why? Because they all act like a cohesive person, albeit one with "moods". This is why they are called a system, because they work together to protect the person and keep them safe - even if the way that part attains safety is skewed. For example, one of my alters has internalized and personified the voice of one of my abusers. The way she protects me is by punishing me before I have done something my abuser would have punished me for, and therefore, I don't get externally punished. This alter has the same condescending and demeaning attitude, says and does nearly the same things and in the same way, and holds the same beliefs. Although this alter means well, I am punished for normal things, such as speaking; speaking means sharing things about oneself and therefore is "not safe". I know that was an information dump and may be clear as space rocks. Feel free to ask me questions!

I would have named either of my girls after my mother in law. She was an amazing lady. She and her mom just happened to have the same middle name as my aunt aka dad's big sister. But she said no, she wanted her grandbabies to have their own identities. My girls are named Danielle Michelle and Caitlynne Coleen. Danielle because my husband thought that it was the super model Elle Macpherson real name, it's not by the way. Michelle because of the Beatles song. Well that is why he think s I chose it, but in reality it was the closest girl name that I could get to my maiden name of Mitchell. Our youngest daughter Caitie well her name was created to honor my late granny. He wanted to name her Victoria Rose, or Virginia Rose. I wad ok with Rose, since it was my great granny's name. My maternal grandfather's mom. It also happened to be his paternal grandmother's middle name. I didn't like Victoria, sounds stuffy and then there is the nickname of Icky Vicky. I didn't want that for my kid. Virginia was his maternal grandmother's first name. Now I loved both ladies to bits, but I didn't want his grandmother's thinking we loved one more then the other so both names were out. Then when I was 5 months along with our youngest, my only granny thatvI ever knew, aka maternal one passed away. I demanded that we honor her, hell it wad also demanded by both my mother in law and hubby grandmother's that we honor my granny. So we named her Caitlynne Coleen. A mix of the Celtic and Scot spelling of the name. We both have Irish and Sottish roots. But it was my granny who was half Irish so that is were the Coleen came into play. I loved the actress Colleen Dewhurst, but loved the way Coleen bettervthen with 2 L's but hubby didn't. When he was busy helping our oldest 2 almost 3 st the time hold and introduce herself to her beloved and longingly awaited for baby. The hospital staff asked for her name.cI was the only one paying attention, so I gave them the spelling of both Caitlynne and Coleen and by the time hubby noticed it was to late to change it and his mom thought it looked prettier with one L anyway. Hubby being a mama's boy relented.

I do believe DID is real, knew someone, well 2 folk over the years that had it. One of them very well, the other more like a friend of a friend. The one I knew well, she had no memories of the seperate personalities. But 1 of her pers did. They knew everything that went on. It was like the "guardian " of the rest. She suffered extreme abuse & SA abuse as a child. That pers (guard)was the one that triggered out to take all the horrors that her little child mind couldn't understand/deal with. Then she had other pers to. She would use a tape player (this was back in the 80's) she'd record everything on. So when her main/real personality came out she could hear & learn what the others did. I remember when something "triggered" her guardian to come out when we were together. Her main actually felt horrible, blamed herself, wrote me a letter of apology on behalf of the guard. Because the guard would never apologize. She had no control at all when the others came out of their behaviors, often cried, felt guilty over what guard did/said(worse Karen &could be physical bully ever in modern terms.) and haveing illness. Hers were created when she shattered from to much for a chils to handel, never "grew a new one that was a copy of another person". This lady in the story needs to see a Dr., or a few to find out what she does have. I think she has some form of illness but not necessarily DID.

Also they might wanna keep kids away from the brother, the fact he sees no problem with this woman "becoming" his 3yo niece is rather disturbing, he has sex with this woman and he is not repulsed by this? Another sign of it being a setup, too perfect, busted before finishing, girl black out drunk by her friends egging her on, a picture perfect couple many would be jealous of and thanks to seeing crap like this with my own eyes and hearing shit like this, I know women can be vile and evil towards someone they decide is worth putting into the worst situations for some perceived slight or pathetic reason. Makes me glad to be a man, our crap tends to end with a few punches, women though will play nice and set their friend up to be SA'd, and yes this has happened to women I have known and I have overheard the women who claimed to be friends saying the most terrible shit about the victim and making remarks that clearly indicate they had a part in it happening.

The misogyny is fairly strong in many a reddit post involving relationships. I ascertain sexism can go both ways, but I've always witnessed more misogyny than I've seen misandry, especially with the incel camp being emboldened by the usual suspects of roid raging Andrew Tate [*barf*] clones spewing their garbage in podcasts. It's their victim blaming mentality that leads various women and men alike hesitant to report their ordeal out of fear of being dismissed as a whore or unmanly.

For the last story, where the guy married, in order to get promotions at work, not really feeling romantic love for his new wife: She knows. Women have this intuition she could tell when you first married her that your heart wasn’t completely in it. And she can tell by the way that you look at her now that you love her wholeheartedly. Tell her in a way that doesn’t tell her. buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers, give them to her and tell her that when you were younger, you made decisions based on immature reasons. Now that your older one decision has turned out to be the best decision you’ve ever made. Don’t elaborate don’t go into details just give her the flowers and give her a romantic kiss.

With story one, once she said she "cheated" while so drunk she couldn't even remember it, my mind immediately went to assault. I thought maybe she got drugged somewhere along the way, but it sounds like she was just encouraged to drink far more alcohol than she normally would which lead to "Richard" doing the unthinkable. Even if she did get drunk of her own volition, as Reddit told OP, she could not legally consent. I'm glad OP agreed to help her through the horrible process that is trying to get justice, including getting the CCTV footage from the bar of her "consent" not even being a "yes". Also glad he's letting her have time and get counseling as she processes all of this. This story reminded me of another where it was the man who confessed tearfully that he had cheated on his fiancee, and it turned out a couple of his "best friends" set him up to be sexually assaulted in a similar way because they disliked/didn't want him to be with his fiancee.

Drunk people, yes including guys in this, can't consent when under the influence. That means anything sexual after a few beers, a little weed, drugs could make either both or one of y'all a "sex offender" I guess whoever reports it first. Idk how the law works, but I'd think if it works for one gender it should be the same for the other. I understand that's not always the case.

Third story? Dang I really hope a lack of another update means the situation calmed tf down for OPs sake. Who needs enemies with a "mother" like that. Asking for babysitting money ffs. You could tell right away she is not "emotionally" mature for shit just by how she immediately jumped to ad hominem the second OP did not play along with her lie in the first post. She's 17 going on 18 (actually she's 33) Number's still out on the dad though. Him "doing collage things at collage" or "posting things on social media" doesn't say a lot. But it's understandable how it can bother OP. I also really hope they find out what the hell happened with the money the father sent to OP, cause I'm getting the feeling "mother" pocketed it all.

Naming is so funny to me! When I was pregnant with my oldest, we had his full name sorted, and a full name for if he was a girl (Joke's on us because they're gender fluid! 😂 Any pronouns go, very chill with it). We then used our girl names with our daughter, and had boy names sorted for if it was 'wrong', and an additional girl name for if it was twins. Next child we did more spontaneously to honor our loss between him and his sister. We have a boys name and a girls name on standby in case we want to have another child. The biggest challenge we had was how to combine last names (Hyphenated, mine then his). We never understood how people find it so hard. 🤔

Or they set it up for Richard, I have been around some women (whom I dropped as friends ASAP after figuring out what they did) who made fun of and even said a friend of theirs who got date raped, probably deserved it and liked it. Later talking to the victim I learnt how it went down at first, it was clearly a setup by the other women. Just like this story only my friend got drugged not drunk because she never got wasted on booze because she had been raped in the past that way and was way more cautious, the time I am mentioning involved her drink being spiked while 5 of her gal pals stood around and would of noticed.

The D.I.D one annoys me because I know someone that does the same but with tourettes. their tics seem to only happen when they aren't getting enough attention from their bf during the campaign or are annoyed about a situation. Their tics have their arm flail out while they stutter out "f*ck you" or "f*ggot". These fails typically end up resulting in what looks like them slapping their bf. They never ticked for like the first 6 months of the campaign then it happened every session after a new person joined. Used it as an excuse to ban them from my home though "we don't lay hands on people we love in this apartment"

DID story: DID is real but with how it manifests and how rare it is, it doesn’t sound like it. I know folks with diagnosed DID. They’re 100% accountable for their alters and actions. I know someone who has alters that get violent so didn’t have kids. I worked in a facility with folks with the condition. But you cannot program an alter like that. Communicating with alters is a hard process that is about trying to either reunify(if that’s your goal, I’m not a reunificationist) or minimize distress and symptoms. But I know folks with the condition that the courts took rights from and they and their drs agree. It’s a harsh condition that is often deadly to person with it. And yes people fake it. I know someone whose own psych said that. I was there because they were trying to excuse hurting me. I have an abuser with the condition who genuinely remembers nothing but owns it and has made things right. There’s folks in between. But the thing is, everyone is either accountable or so deep in it they’re essentially disabled. It’s not cute. It’s devastating and cosplaying a genuine illness for lols is WHY folks get stigmas and can’t get help.
