Christmas 🎄 wasn't Christmas until the shops were smelling of big,red APPLES. They were from Canada and the RED GRAPES 🍇 were packaged in a wooden crate filled with white Sawdust. This is when we children knew CHRISTMAS 🎄 is coming. Also, the radio stations( Radio Demerara and GBS)began playing Carols from the 1st of December. The Sugar Estates had the final Crop of the Year and ALL Workers got a BONUS. This was the cue for a spending spree in the Stores and Furniture shops. Happy Memories 😊 👍❤️🇬🇧
