My parents are from Mauritius. Mauritius and Reunion are geographically the closest pieces of land to one another, but they've always been unique entities whilst maintaining some commonalities as with all neighbours. Mauritius is an independent island nation and Reunion is an overseas department governed directly as part of France...but the two islands share very friendly relations stemming from similar histories and cultural ties

Most of them are from the Island of Mayotte or Comoros. Not indigenous people but there is no indigenous people to the island :)

@M Hello, Yes I am from Reunion Island. Most of descendent of the french settlers lives in the highland region yes, But you have to konw they are considered creole as everyone else on the Island, we all have the same culture :) They don't have a specific way of life, they speak creole ( with an unique accent its true haha ) sorry, I don't know any website that can help you ^^ But if you have any question, I can help you ;)
