Because the winter was so mild, I was battling aphids on my pansies all winter long and now still here in Amsterdam. Thanks for a great video.

Those walnuts, let them dry a few months first. In a very dry space, like a conservatory or the likes. Maybe even your high tunnel if they are not very humid during the winter. After that, they will taste great! Looking forward to the video about working under trees!

Hey, this vid reaIly hit a note with me, my neighbours have a mature walnut and we get about a third of the nuts, and I have a strawberry and garlic bed too, I feed it only with autumn woodchips and nettle tea, works well!

Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the more detailed video on combining trees with the marketgarden. If summers keep getting hotter and dryer we really need to invest in eco-airco aka trees :). Greetz from belgium

Hey Moreno, we have quiet some experience with strawberries on our farm; if you harvest the strawberries for multiple years, you will have smaller ones each year. There are 3 main types of strawberries that we use; the early variaties; these should be planted in the middle of august and will then be harvestable in may of the next year; then we have the late bearing variaties that you should plant in March/April and you can then harvest those in July of the same year; lastly we also have “ever bearing” (we call it “doordragers” in Dutch) variaties that we plant with intervals through April and for those, you should pick out the first 2 flower branches and then afterwards you should be able to keep on picking strawberries from the end of July until the season gets too cold; October probably in your case. I hope this small bit of information can be of use to you concerning some fruits that you do not yet have an awful lot of experience with 🙂

On a side note: we farm on a commercial scale, but we do still farm in the ground (not on some kind of substrate). We take out the plants every year after they’ve beared fruit. Some times we leave them for a second year, and that usually means more, but a slot smaller strawberries, so also less sellable kg

I was just wondering where I’m going to plant all these asparagus plants. I tried starting a whole packet of seeds and had great success 🤷‍♀️ I guess I’ll put them with my strawberries ☺️

Hi Moreno, thanks again for the videos. I had a pretty bad experience with woodchips/straw mulch around strawberries : these delicious fruits right on the ground were very attractive to snails and slugs. I took out the mulch , it seemed to help a lot, the compost underneath was not providing any habitat and I guess it seemed like a dry lava field for them. Any thoughts or experience on that?

Thank you for the latest vid...very informative as always. Regarding nut and fruit trees, if you planted new walnut, pear and plumb trees for example, how many years would they take to start bearing produce? We are in the Dordogne, so a few hours south of you - thanks

I have been battling squash beetles for a bit on my squash. Then suddenly there were ladybugs. I was happy to see a fellow soldier. Except...they were not ladybugs!! Looks like them but these look-a-likes are eating my squash leaves, leaving skeleton-like leaves. Lesson 9,999! Lol

There is a very organic friendly insecticide you can use. It smells reallly horrible when you are applying it though. Neem Oil mixed in water with some emulsifier so that it actually disperses in the water.

Another good one Moreno. I'm starting to plan my farm now. No-dig for sure. Also, I saw a very interesting video from Huw Richards about nettles in his garden they have an amazing range of use for the biodiversity of a garden and aphids are attracted more to them than any other plant. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/opy4nqqif5qFh5o - a must have on your farm.
