Don’t know a that. My triumph scrambler 1200 is reliable, good looking, all the tech you want at tells you everything, beautiful TFT display 200mm suspension travel and fully adjustable, sounds great, quality parts, good mileage, lots of character, and the service requirement is at 10,000, but it does have chain drive. Oh, and every part looks good and is polished to look gorgeous. Non of that plastic stuff to hide anything.

@gino You may be right but I’m still not totally convinced by the modern Triumphs. They certainly don’t have the same levels of character & charm as the Guzzis. Furthermore, I buy a Moto Guzzi knowing it’s been made in Italy. One buys a Triumph and it’s probably been made in Thailand or some other country, well away from Britain.

Thanks for another great review. I’ve always been a GS/GSA fan but this could be a viable alternative. I don’t need massive power but want low down and mid range grunt which this seems to have. And it’s a real V twin rather than a parallel twin contrived to sound like one. One tester suggested it was quite top heavy. I’m only slightly taller than you and then likes of the T7, Ducati Desert-X and Multistradas certainly felt that way. I’m guessing no bother? The front end looks not unlike like a Tuareg 660.

I'm sure the styling will grow on me it's just I prefer the more classic look. Got to be better than paying another £10000 on top for a BMW GS that are as common as muck. I don't agree having used heated gloves that give you heat all over the hand and fingers for 4 hours I no longer desire heated grips.
@michaeldobson88596 ай бұрын
I didn’t want to give you a Like but I did. You did not point out what is missing on the bike and criticize the Stelvio for lacking certain items for sure. Dynamic suspension for one, a center stand is an option on their flagship model?? Really. Does it have heated grips?? You made mention of how good it is at 2,000 rpm in the city but not that it lacks top end power for a 1,000 cc bike. Make an example of it like BMW came out in 2005 with the 1200 engine and it makes as much power as the Stelvio almost 20 years later, why is that Guzzi? Why a 1000 cc engine? Why is it not a 900 or a 1200 or 1300 cc engine with 150 hp? How do expect to compete, if you don’t size right?
@timbounds71907 ай бұрын
£15k and you don't get a centrestand as standard?? For that money, I'd expect a quickshifter as standard as well. If Suzuki can do so on their new medium range 800cc bikes, then MotoG can do it on a premium product! Otherwise, there are things to like on it, and things that.....I'm not so sure of! Maybe the engine character is a bit of an acquired taste, though I guess it works well.
