Elle Russ chats with Dane Johnson - a Board Certified Nutritionist who naturally recovered from a near death experience battling Crohn’s Disease & Ulcerative Colitis. He is the founder of CrohnsColitisLifestyle and Co-founder of the non-profit, EfundyourHealth with the mission to empower the Crohn’s/Colitis community and bring alternative options to our healthcare system. Dane used a combination of healing approaches to eliminate his symptoms, drug use, avoid all surgeries and regain 55 pounds of lean body weight. He has helped over 250 Crohn’s/Colitis clients to do the same through private coaching and his signature S.H.I.E.L.D. program. He now has a thriving career as a speaker, author, coach, and model for a self-empowerment.

I manage my Crohn’s disease with just diet. No surgery, no drugs. I eat meat, vegetables, fruits and nothing else: No bread, no cereals, no sugar, no alcohol, no oil, no dairy, no sweets, no coffee, no soft drinks, no fried food, no chocolate, no anything processed, not even a tiny bite of these things. I do have some social problems (friends believe that my diet is weird, and sometimes I go to places where there is nothing that I can eat), but it is wonderful to be pain-free, and healthy. And my diet is not a sacrifice to me, because I got used to it and I adhere to it with religious zeal, so there is no possibility to relapse or return to an internal struggle by tasting again food that reignites an addictive behavior.

@@man58652 I make a smoothie for breakfast with bananas, avocado, cacao powder, frozen blueberries, spinach, and flax seed. For lunch and dinner I have some sort of cooked meat or fish (Chicken breast, Turkey breast, salmon) then either potatoes, sweet potatoes, or jasmine rice for the side, finally I have either zucchini, squash, mushroom, or cucumber for a vegetable. Everyone is different of course, but this is just what worked and helped me at the time. I still have mild symptoms but it definitely decreased them by quite a bit.

Ive been getting blood in stool and had eczema in hands for more than a year now. And today went to the bathroom in extreme excruciating pain and constipation despite eating tons of fiber rich foods. I now realize something is extremely wrong and I need help. Ive also had other skin autoimmune conditions since childhood. Update: I've began taking probiotics and drinking probiotic rich Kefir and also taking collagen/bone broth powder and L-Glutamine everday, and have tinkered with my diet and have gotten much better thank God.

I am struggling with Cronhs for 15 years under medical treatment at different hospitals. Yet I didn't get any relief. I was at 78 kg by weight before Crohns. My weight went down to 35 kg within a month when I had severe diarrhoea during 2007. Now, 23rd Aug, 2023 my weight went down to 45.6kg and I lost my health and strength after spending huge amount of money. As my mother brought us in Bible principles, I am non smoker, do not take liquor. Please pray for me and advise me to rever from the server painful disease Crohns at the age of 68 years old. This is synchronicity of the highest order! Your incredibly inspirational, uplifitng video landed in my feed tonight as my 26 year old son remains 'captured' by his CRP levels in hospital going on five weeks, being poisoned with a multitude of drugs like you Dane, methotrexate, infliximab, countless antibiotics, blood thinners, being subjected to regular sigmoidoscopies etc as the drugs dished out like candy, led to his contracting C Difficile in hospital. . His GI specialist is 'stumped' tonight, planning to consult Oxford docs. Your story will undoubtedly save a multitude of young, wonderful lives. Thank you from a Mom who refuses to give in to the drug-dispensing system. Kudos to your Mom. Lots of love to all the other sufferers out there and YES to healing the 'brokenness' of gentle souls who need to become authentic and free xxx

I certainly can relate. I began to experience gastro symptoms especially relentless diarrhoea when I was nine and finally a year later I had seen outof many who had came up with various misdiagnoses a gastroenterologist that seemed to know what he has been doing and I was ultimately diagnosed with Crohns. I am 18 now and thus far somewhat have it under control. I had one surgery for stenosis in my jejunum area. I have been taking Prednisone and one '-imabs' after another. The only symptom I have is mild to moderate diarrhoea in the morning when I wake up, also during periods of heavy stress like from school I would have to dash out of the classroom to the boys room with additional diarrhoea attacks, painful gut cramps etc. Sometimes I have experienced som very embarrassing public diarrhoea accidents, which were not good as well. So I know justwhat you have been going through, definitely NO fun! I have tried some diets, and they all failed! Even marijuana, which did work except for the diarrhoea episodes it failed.

Every case is different. You need to take note of everything you eat & keep a record of how it all makes you feel- again, it is different for everyone. Work with your gastroenterologist for the best medications for your case. You really need to pay attention to your symptoms & work with experts for help. Avoid & deal with stress as well as you can as this will make it worse. Also, don’t trust anyone who says that they can “cure” you. You can put it into remission, but currently there is not a cure. Please take it from me- I’ve had this for almost 40 years & I am managing well- it IS possible!

I was too sick for too long to sue that Butcher! All I had to do was take a damn test before he put me through all that pain and those two major surgeries So I had to have another major surgery to remove it. At least I'm still alive, but I'm not thriving. I need to take Dane's advice! Anyone reading this, especially someone young, don't mess with this, take good care of yourself. I believe this man has great intentions, the interview was really just them talking for 50 minutes about how they felt, how they feel now, and then towards the end he basically says for the specific patients treatment it was $5,000. Kuddos for raising it, but here's really no information in here helping the people for free. The title was click bait. Thumbs down. I understand you're trying to make a living helping people and i'm all for that! But wow just, mega click bait with barley an inch of free help for people.

Please seek medical attention. Supplements are good, but you need a diagnosis if you don’t have one & a treatment plan. Colitis can go into cancer later. You may feel like you are doing ok like I did with UC, but my last colonoscopy showed ulcers. I have been dealing with this since I was eleven. The damage that untreated inflammation can cause is not something you want to deal with!

I'm getting to the stage where I'm so weak can barely stay awake from going to the toilet 4-5 times within an hour. I also have nerve damage to the spine so having this disease on top of this I'm really struggling. I haven't experienced blood yet but lots of mucus. I feel sick all the time and scared to eat because as soon as I do I'm having to get to the bathroom ASAP. I dont know yet if I have crohns disease or ulcerative colitis and I'm so scared. Also I drink a glass of celery juice every morning, I take vitamin supplements so I know my body get what it needs, I make green juices that are healthy and easy to digest, I try to eat dinner early and eat breakfast late the the next day. That way my digest system get a rest for 12-14 hours and the body has time to repair. It's also called intermediate fasting. I don't drink milk and old eat some goat cheese. I drink some herbal tea, never coffee. I meditate and try to have little stress in my life. No alcohol, no smoking. I currently take some imolope and 1 tablet Kodein in the morning to keep my stomach calm. I use natural psyllium powder on/off that also helps the system. I use fresh ginger in my food. I take one spoon of kiselgel / silicea. I take some probiotic also. So a lot of things but its all experiments on what work or not. But key for me is healthy non processed food and peaceful life. A lot of emotional stress makes it worse. I was super stressed when it broke out. Hope you find a way to help.

Darling, You are so right . He did dance around a lot. I had severe Crohns for ten years. Dr's didn't help they just wanted to med me up. Here in a nutshell is what I learned. Eliminate as much sugar as possible. Sugar is in everything so it's not easy but you can cut it's consumption way back with a little effort. Sugar is basically great tasting poison. Research intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting helped me immediately and profoundly. Remember you are dealing with a digestive disorder. It helps to give your gut a rest so it can heal. Keep a log of what foods trigger your symptoms and avoid them. The old saying "you are what you eat" is Gospel. Don't just shove anything in your mouth, remember you are not a garbage can. If you treat your body like a garbage can it will look and smell like one. We here in the west don't think twice about what we eat as long as it tastes good; not thinking about "is it good for you?". Also stress can help manifest a flare up. Find a way to overcome or dodge stress. I am doing well as a result of taking care of myself. I hope you find this info useful and regain your health. It is easier than you think.
