I actually really like this location for an olive tree! I don't think it's out of place in the arid area. It just looks like Italy! Beautiful

What a treat to see a planting video in the middle of winter! ^^ I wish I could plant my olive tree in the ground (hopefully somehow, someday) - I even wondered if I should send it to you (lol!), donate it to you, because I trust you to take care of it, but then I realized it probably wouldn't survive the trip from Zurich. Quick question, are you not going to water it in? Is that because it's winter and it would be way too much water for it? One thing I have realized over the years since getting into plants, is that all plants really prefer to live in the ground. I started off my gardening journey getting houseplants. But at this stage, I don't want any plants in pots. I've planted out all the plants I could plant out (the hardy ones) so far in the ground and they're happier, but I still have a few "exotic" plants that I have no where to plant yet. I dream of one day being able to boy a property in Italy and then I can plant them all out there - fingers crossed! 😂

Thanks for this. Yes that's exactly the reason I didn't water it. Well spotted, had it been summer i would have flooded it. I agree, the ground must be the best place...but then, as you say, we end up digging plants up for winter lol

Hi. I've always pruned mine so i didn't get a crop yet. But 2025 I'm going to make a concerted effort. The white buds should produce. They are mostly self fertile i believe and can self pollinate in a breeze. Thanks for watching and hello Vancouver! 😊 I went there once and had wonderful visit.
