Hey mark, I’m 23 years old and own a business in a niche trade. While I believe that being wealthy can be learned (I try to learn and improve my efficiency daily) I can’t help but feel as though I don’t deserve what I have. Yes I’ve put in some time in the shop and sometimes not leaving for a couple days, but the time I’ve put in really doesn’t feel proportional to the money I’ve made. I have a hard time going in to work now when my employees are there because I feel like I can’t face them knowing how much I make off of their work now. I pay them as much as I can afford, but they seem ungrateful. I’m having a very hard time navigating this side of my business, but I don’t have the time or money for classes/hiring an hr person. I was very much in the right place at the right time when it comes to my business. I worked 2 jobs all through high school and eventually met someone who had a business. He ended up getting along with me very well and offered me a job. I started for him about 6 years ago now and learned as much as possible from him working extra nights as weekends as much as possible. When he retired his building was sitting empty and I took a chance by quitting my job to rent a space from him and start working. I have bought the building from him and use half of it to build cars with a friend of mine after work hours. I really look forward to working on the cars, but the business side of things often comes in second place in my mind and the business has suffered a bit from it. I don’t see a way to make money off what I really enjoy doing as I’m not a certified mechanic and haven’t attended classes for anything since graduating high school. The business just feels like work to me and I have a hard time finding motivation to do much of anything anymore.
