Phutai people in Thailand also has the ceremony called "Bai Sri Su Kwan", which is pretty much the same. We believe that people has "Kwan". It's like the spirit or some kind of guardian angel that lives in our body. Sometimes "Kwan" get away from our body so we have this ceremony to call it back. The ceremony is held to welcome guests, or when we get married, someone in the family died, get sick, accidents, graduated, etc.

I love the Hmong culture and just learning bout different people I lived next door to a family who were Hmong,I played with my friend everyday and we were close she invited me for tea and then for a Hmong feast which I was curious I didnt like alot of the food which I ate it anyways out of respect it wasnt that it wasnt good just abit spicey and really not what I was used to .I was asked how I liked it said the dishes I liked ,but I said it all was good but a few dishes I wasnt used to they were very kind I dont like hurting people but I know lying is a huge insult or not trying it.the kids had hammocks in there room and special bed mats and they .were comfortable.I WILL SAY I HATED MY OTHER NEIGHBORS (in Fresno,ca)BECAUSE 2 GERMAN SHEPHERDS WERE MISSING AND THEY BLAMED MY FRIENDS FAMILY AND THE COPS CAME THEY LEFT THEN A FEW DAYS LATER THEY FOUND THE REMAINS IN A CHINESE FAMILIES TRASH DOWN THE BLOCK ...THOSE WHO ACCUSED MY FRIENDS FAMILY NEVER APOLOGIZED. I WAS SO HURT FOR THEM.THEY MOVED AWAY..

I don't think Mom and Dad could be any more prouder with the way Micah interact with those lovely kids. A wonderful way to introduce a child to the world without any barriers or borders, just appreciate what you have and accept others for who they are. Sometimes we are just too judgemental to criticise things we're not familiar with or don't like, why not just look at Mark and the team who never failed to mention, praise and appreciate the countless hospitality and the warm welcome they received irrespective of where they are.
