This video says alot. Mark, how kind, respectful, conscious you are about those around you. FAME changes people, and most dont even know when there being compleatly disrespectful to people in there own country. I hope your success never changes, the wonderful, good person you and your wife are. Your videos, are refreshing, and a sheer joy to watch.

Franco Da Franco Well I'm sure his vlog is a career for both him and his wife. I can almost guarantee that they do it together and get paid together. As for the scene with Andrew were he mentions the wife, i can also bet that it is called "good natured ribbing" and I doubt she actually feels ignored.
@heybeautiful36477 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I dont make my point clear. I was referring to Andrew Zimmerman callen the locals that were driving him around all day long, 'TOADIES' ?! It just annoyed me how disrespectful Andrew came off in this video. And how he didnt seem to get he was on MARKS SHOW.... 'Hey Andrew its not all about you dude.'! With regards to Marks wife...there is no doubt in my mind, he is an amazing husband, and dad!
@bosgaurus17 жыл бұрын
Andrew was making fun of himself as a parody of a fat rich white guy from the 18th century with a colonial mindset being carried around on a palanquin complaining all day. And he called (as a part of the parody) his own crew toadies. You know, the people he travels and works with every day sharing their stories and farts and sweat stink and beer after the shoots and then back to the same hotel as them and the same buses and planes...you know, his work family. And he was doing Mark a solid by being on this vlog, and yes, himself as well. This could lead to Mark getting a shot at being part of a TV food show. Chill.

possibly coz he's only been eating Thai food for less than 10 years not all his life so he's easily taken by the flavours which are 100x stronger than most other cuisines with their sourness and extreme spiciness. anything overly spicy to him is delicious, in spite of the other flavours or lack there of.

I'm so glad you got to meet him and enjoyed this time with. I have to say next to him with all of his people and all of his talk about his people and all of the constant catering going on for him, your genuine, humble, happy personality really shines even brighter than his so called "stardom" you don't need all of the "people and catering because you just have it happening for you without all of that. I'm sure he saw that in you and probably felt a bit threatened by it and a bit self concious. As for the relationship conversation he had with your wife probably not his place to do but being that it happened I would definitely make sure personal/private time was spent enough so that she is feeling like being part of this journey with you and not feeling neglected by the constant camera invasion. Family first💛 happy wife, happy life😉

I lived with a Laotian chef and her stuff is pretty good. They do things with food that you would never even think of. At least I wouldn't. Like this recipe made with sticky rice. They let sticky rice dry and then when it's completely dried and hardened they cook the rice on a pan, then they process it til it's completely grated and grainy like sand, they add liquids and flavor, then cool it down, then they add that rice concoction to lettuce with peanuts, lemon grass, and tomatoes. It's really good and a health food.

I think both guys are just having fun. Andrew felt the Mark's admiration and capitalized on it by playing the master seeing his pupil who learnt a lot.

Damn, I just lost so much respect for Andrew Zimmern. I thought the dude was cool. Dude, u need to chill, just because u have a TV crew, u don't have to feed ur ego w the cocky, i'm-better-than-u attitude

I'm very impressed with Andrews thoughts about Marks vlog! I've always had a rule about KZbin videos, If you can't inform or entertain me in 16 minutes or less then never mind. Until I found this channel, I'll watch no matter how long the video is. Mark, you do a wonderful job my friend! I'm watching this at home in central Alabama, USA

what a great experience it must be to get to meet and work with Zimmerns :D This just shows how far you have come Mark. You are so blessed that you get to do what you love and earn a living from it. I wish you more prosperous 2016. Never ever change your signature yummy face over Zimmern's eyebrow move. jk :D

When Andrew says: "Even you felt" ... even you? implying that you have some sort of higher taste quality than Mark? xD i just hate the self centered vibe he gives off.

Well I personally think Mark is a better food reviewer. Andrew is also the same guy who prefers frozen steak cooked then served cold 🤣

to be fair to Andrew i think he was referring to that specific meal being incredibly special, and even mark, as many times has he gone to that restaurant, would share the same sentiment
@nikosfilipino3 жыл бұрын
That conversation was taken out of context because of the editing. Andrew was referring to how even though Mark lives in Thailand and eats at these places often, he can still experience the magic of how delicious that food is with the same excitement as if it were his first time.

Your last meal of the day was very special for 3 important reasons: 1) It was the strangest one that Mr. Zimmern missed out on, 2) It was just you and Ying, 3) You put the camera away after the first bite which made it a date night!

I loved this video with Andrew Zimmerman, one of my favorite food travelers. He is hilarious. I'm very sarcastic myself and totally understand his humor. As well, the advise about making a dinner date with your wife without a camera present is very wise advise.

They were filming a television show. Andrew Zimmern's Driven By Food. The Bangkok episode. If you watch the episode hopefully you see Andrew and Mark talking and being more friendly. Mark was filming "behind the scenes" snippets when Andrew was not really ready. Do not judge until you have to be in front of a camera for hours and hours.
