Spoke to my parents last night, reminiscing about when we lived in Hong Kong (Kowloon Tsai) back in '77 to '79. We lived in a place which I think is now called Beacon Hill, which was off Cornwall Street, though the street names might have changed. We had a 3 bedroom apartment on the third floor of Exeter House, the first block of apartments up quite a steep hill. The fishman would knock on our door most week's on a particular day, carrying his wares on the classic baskets supported by a bamboo stave over his shoulder. He would fillet your fish on your doorstep, with a big smile. The school had a swimming pool, which we would swim in after school most days, given the weather was pretty warm all year round. Lion Rock, Ocean Park, Star Ferries, Dragon boat races in the harbour, lots of great memories, I haven't yet been able to revisit since, but it is definitely on my bucket list.
@plr467 ай бұрын
Hi Sean. It was called Beacon Hill even then! I went to Beacon Hill school and lived off Warwick Road. No swimming pool back then in 1978, but the secondary school, King George V had one!
@SeanHendy7 ай бұрын
@@plr46 St Andrews School was the primary school, (I think the secondary school was St Georges) walking distance from the bottom of the hill, and most definitely had a swimming pool as I learned to swim in it. We might be in the same area, but talking about different things.

One question Mark. What does it take to make a Mark Wiens video. How many people do you travel with, would love to see a behind the camera video.
@johnnytx457 ай бұрын
I think it is going to depend. He travels with his wife and son and his wife has the camera sometimes. He also has a friend he travels with that you see online. Then, he normally uses people from food tour groups to help find the best food from the region. He may use 1 food tour guide, and I have seen him with 3 people in some of his videos.
